I absolutely appreciate the enthusiasm of all the participants here on this thread but lets not confuse toys and precision miniature collectibles.

You haven't bought the Bombay Taxi variant? I thought among all the five, the Taxi looks the best, followed by the sky Blue one.
All I am saying is with a little more attention to detail, this could have been nearly perfect. For e.g. the tyres are too fat for a Fiat 1100D/Padmini

Can anyone suggest how to safely remove the "Classic" decal from the boot without damaging the black paint underneath?

Yes Sandesh, tyres are too fat for a Taxi which used to run on CNG, these look like 165R14 rather the usual thin MRF tyres we used to get on padmini.

The mirrors also looks toyish, and no taxi decals as well. Once i get a hand on this taxi variant, i will try and make it look more realistic.

In fact on other variants, the fat tyres will look good, just need to find a way to remove the steel cap on tyre and give it a Alloy look.

@ Bandhav not everyone can afford a precision miniature automobile. Anything from centy is a scale model and cant be called just a Toy IMO.

I usually do not collect this scale but on a recent visit to Singapore, saw these at the airport and could not stop myself from getting them. Barring the Integra, I have the others in 1:18 as well so it would make for a good display! :)

Absolutely true, it is an expensive hobby just like many others.

There was a time when Centy used to do Scalemodels, proper scaled down replicas of actual automobiles. What they are doing right now is "Juggad". No taking away from efforts Centy is putting in but what they are selling in market can't be termed as anything else but a toy. The TG for these are kids & auto enthusiasts who have occasional whim of buying a Model but don't want to commit to hobby as it is Expensive.

Partially agree, since some models like Tata 407 are very detailed.
While others look like toys. I am Centy collector since last 20 years and i love them since they are the only one's who provide us with scale models from cars in our country, so while i agree with your "Jugaad" term, but at the same time i am happy atleast we have that.

I love to tinker with my scale models and i try to make them look a little more realistic.:)

Got all five of them, just for nostalgia's sake. The Bombay Taxi looks exceptionally nice. The 9211 number is possibly a reference to the movie Taxi No. 9211.

Yes! Ordered all 5 of them purely for nostalgia. They are going out of stock pretty fast everywhere. Today morning when all 5 of them were available on Flipkart, I made the impulsive purchase but I won't regret it.

Memories of our own Premier Padmini. Thanks for sharing this information on the thread, else would have never known these models existed!

Got this 1:18 W115 Mercedes-Benz 200. This is a “Mercedes-Benz” original made by Norev:

More models will be unveiled by Centy in near future. Beginning with these

Wow, I don’t know how I missed this thread. I am more of a (small time) Hot Wheels collector with a focus on VW T1 Panel buses and a few more. I have a few 1:24 (1 each of my favourite models) Ferraris, Lambos and Porsches but majorly a 1:64 scale guy as it’s easier to store and sometimes cheaper to buy - trust me I have paid insane amounts for few older Hot wheels, total madness. Currently have around 10 Tomica and 150 Premium Hot wheels and 350 Main lines. Attaching few random pics here, I do not show case them and most of the time they are packed in boxes sadly but I track what I have in an excel so that I don’t buy duplicates. Happy collecting to all. :D

6 additions to the collection since moving to Mumbai mid July. Currently focused on getting some Motorcycles into this collection. A 1/12 scale R1250 GSA model or a 1/18 scale Yamaha MotoGP bike with Fabio Quartararo's Red No. 20 on the front (both from Maisto) is next on the list.

From left to right

C1 Corvette with Barbie movie packaging
Dodge D100 in Barbie Pink
Chevy Bel Air Gasser
Dodge Viper RT/10 Convertible
Mazda 787B
DMC Delorean (unfortunately not in Back to the Future spec)

Not exactly the scale model but have been nostalgic about the state transport buses from the childhood. So decided to make one with the forex sheet on a standard 6 wheel Chassis.

Collected these three plastic toys from Centy toys.

This was always my favorite angle (top view) to look at the Padmini.
When my dad used to park our white Padmini in the 90s, this is how it looked from our 1st floor balcony.

Got my hands on the new Car Culture: Race Day pack including the Porsche 935 in KW livery, Aston Martin Vantage GTE in line green AMR livery, Audi R8 LMS, Ford Capri Group 5 in an inspired Zakspeed Racing livery and the 1994 AMG C Class DTM Touring Car in Yellow Zakspeed livery. Finally my collection goes over 500..!!

Commendable effort! Although I haven’t used these personally, can definitely relate to some common characteristics of the 90s era chassis.

They look so good! Where can we buy these from?
