Indeed a delicious car, this Lambo Miura.
Shapely and sexy.
Timeless design by Marcello Gandini of Bertone. I just LOVE Bertone's auto design!
I have a Limited Edition Auto Art 1:43 Miura in orangey red. And a 1:18 Welly Miura in Giallo.
The 1:43 is just like the one in The Italian Job when Rossano Brazzi acting as a Mafiosi is driving it along the Grand Saint Bernard pass in Northwestern Italy to the accompaniment of one of the most haunting songs of all time - 'On Days like These' - by Matt Monro.
What a car! What a setting! What a film! And What a Song!
The late 1960's and the 1970's were as classy as all get out!

I ve been looking' for a Ferrari Dino myself.
Difficult to find one.

Would also love to get myself a Fiat Dino and a Lancia Fulvia HF Fanalone.
Very hard to find these.

Auto Art used to have a few around 2005 in 1:18 Scale but at that time, I found their prices high.

In any case, I ve always preferred the 1:43 scale but sadly, most of these beautiful old 1960's and '70's cars are pretty tough to get in this scale, even in some of the best possible shops in the world, for scale model collectors, like Model Mania Melbourne, HobbyCo Sydney, Model Cars Too Sydney and the like.

The best way to find models without spending time searching is the eBay saved search feature. There are multiple parameters that you can adjust, including price, condition, distance from seller and so on. I've been using this feature and its helped me get some rare stuff without paying the exorbitant prices these models usually command.
Cheers!

So here is this lovely 1:43 Fiat Campagnola. Italy's answer to the Land Rover Series 1 and 2.

A beautiful little vehicle. Turned up today.
Ordered from Ebay India.

Makes a perfect 'brother' to my Alfa Matta which I got a couple of weeks ago and posted here!

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Hello to all!

Two new additions to my fleet:

A 1:18 Bentley Continental Supersports ISR Convertible

The Scale Model Thread-img_20170422_0856216141.jpg

The Scale Model Thread-img_20170422_0856499991.jpg

Extremely detailed interiors (probably the best in my fleet, somehow the real thing looks better than the photo).

The Scale Model Thread-img_20170422_085801958.jpg

However, something seems wrong with the scale. The 458 Speciale and the Huracan are also 1:18, but the Bentley somehow seems smaller than both.

Moving on, this is a 1:32 Mercedes Benz AMHG C-Coupe.

From Hobbyco Sydney yesterday.

1:76 Scale Bedford Oil Tanker Petrol Board UK - Die Cast Metal - this is a replacement for the similar one that had as a kid. Oxford Diecast Models.

1:63 Scale Sopwith Camel F1. Die Cast Metal. Postage Stamp Collection of Historical Planes. First World War. Always loved the Capt W E Johns, 'Biggles' books and indeed have collected every title over the years so a further fitting tribute is to get his plane as well!

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Added a 1:25 1966 Pontiac GTO to the collection. First car that I own made by New Ray. The casting is heavy. Only grouse is the neither here nor there 1:25 scale. But overall loved it and am gonna add a few more. There is a flat 25% discount in Flipkart for these.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Added the ultimate hypercar to my 1:24 collection. 2017 Bugatti Chiron. Made by Maisto the finish is ok with a lot of scope for improvement, but I'm just happy that atleast someone makes the Bugatti Chiron in 1:24 scale. Bought from hobbytoys, got super fast delivery.

So here is a beautiful retro designed toy racing car. Not a scale model. But it is so lovely that it merits mention.
Made of wood.
A lovely old, pretty aristocratic French wooden toy brand called Vilac - L'Art de Jouer - 'The Art to Play'. (Established 1911).
Bought at the kids section at Robinsons in Dubai last week.
Absolutely gorgeous. Especially its blue wheels!

This Sopwith Camel tail number B7270 was flown by Capt Roy Brown when he (in combination with ack-ack gunners on the ground) shot down Baron Manfred von Richthofen, 'the Red Baron' in WW I. Beautiful model, Shankar.

Thanks Narayan
The Fokker D1 (Red Baron) was also available on Postage Stamp but out of stock at the time.
Will look for it when next I travel.
I love these WW1 aircraft.

I just got that Red Baron Richthofen Fokker Triplane on Amazon USA. It'll reach me in 15 days or so.
