Re: The Scale Model Thread

Yugo 45 - the 'people's car' in erstwhile Yugoslovia.

The Yugo 45 were manufactured by the firm Zastava Corporation in 1978 and were even exported abroad to Egypt, Tunisia, Libya under the brand name of Zastava. I picked up this metal scale model from a shop in Tunis, Tunisia.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

The GAZ 69 was a well know 4 wheel drive light truck during the old Soviet days.

It was a multipurpose vehicle that were used mainly by the Red Army and certain civilian teams (such as the Civil Defence). This vehicle had 2 fuel tanks, one was under the floor and the second (standby) was just under the passenger seat.

Many of these trucks were also used by the Romanian and the Polish military.

This 1954 vehicle was used as a Fire Tender in civilian areas where space was a constraint for the fire tender to get in. Very unique and detailed scale model that was purchased in Warsaw.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

It's not a die-cast model per se but it's an amazing and incredibly detailed mass-produced scale car. For your consideration, the Tumbler:

It has some die-cast parts but most of it is ABS plastic and rubber. The company that manufactures them resorts to using plastic because it is light which translates to economical logistics. And the fact that they are so good at making plastic seem like metal. Have a look at their Iron Man figure:

A rarest of rare model from my personal collection. A scale model of the 1980 Moscow Olympics van to transport horses for Equestrian events.

Amazing and definately one-of-its-kind collection.
How did you end up buying such unique set of models. With such photos you owe us a small write-up on details of when, where and how of each purchase made, as this will add for interesting read & not to mention the visual delight.
