Picked this recently, 1956 Chrysler 300B (1:18)...Fallen in Love with this!

I am in the UK currently and interested in starting a scale model collection. Can anyone point me to good manufacturers / sites where I can research / buy scale models? I tried ebay and amazon and am thoroughly confused with the number of manufacturers / scales available.

But it's surprising that no mention of Welly brand is present in there. Infact, they make some of the best budget models around. I suggest you go for the 1:18 scale as the availability, detailing and variety are really good, either in budget or premium makes. It would be a good idea to add a secondary scale in 1:24 or 1:32.

My recent acquisition. Fell in love the moment I set my eyes on the shelf. Would have been happier if I could get an F3 and a Daytona 675 as well.

They look gorgeous :) ! Are they 1:18s or 1:12s? And could you tell me where you bought the Panigale? I've been wanting to get my hands on one, but can't find them in Chennai.

Recent additions have been the MV Agusta F4 (1:12), Honda VFR1200, Ducati Diavel, Honda Super Black Bird and a Ducati Hypermotard (all in 1:18)! Need to get my parking lot ready to shoot the new ones too ;)

Existing collection includes- R1, ZX10R, Busa, GSX-R 1000, FJR1300, Fireblade, RSV1000, Benelli TnT, Ducati Desmosedici, Benelli Tornado, Aprilia RSV4, Duke 690, BMW HP2 Sport, R1200GS, S1000RR, Rocket III, Valkyrie Rune, R6, Ducati 999, Multistrada, Streetfighter and 2 1098 Corse!

Thanks Turbo. They're all 1:12. I got the Panigale and the S1000RR from Landmark and the F4 from Reliance Timeout.

Your pic reminded me of good times. The Uno has had a special place in my heart. It was a faithful companion for all the years that we had it.

So here goes the entire collection of Scale Models.
I do have some 20-30 Hot Wheels. But I keep them away from scale models. They seem like only fancy cars to me.

Ohh and yes, I haven't yet found the Scale Model for my Chevy Beat. All efforts of mine at local stores have turned futile. The only option it seems is now to write to Chevrolet India.

I'm not really a car model collector as such. I own about 6-7 models of fire engines. I just really like them, so I bought them all in one go. I do like looking at models though. Where ever I see them I'll stop and have a good look. When I was in my teens and later on a student a held a part time job working in a magnificent hobby shop, selling model cars, trains, RC planes etc. etc. Those were the days.

Anyway, beside the few fire engines I have two model model cars
I bought both these models years ago on a classic car exhibition in Germany, Techno Classica in Essen. I've also put a post on my most recent visit somewhere on the forum.

Both these models are made by Minichamps. They are reasonable well detailled and cost around Euro 15 a piece. The reason I bought them is I own the real life size one as well. They are identical, to the last detail, colour, wheels, hub caps everything. Mine are a 1986 Alfa Romeo Spider and a 1982 Mercedes W123.
