The truck model is almost 12 inches long and the cab, container and chassis are of metal. Agreed it is plasticky in some parts like the radiator grille but that's it. Even the tyres are of rubber with treads. The SUPD and RUPD are indeed detailed touches.

As far as Automania's new models go, yes they are China models.
I commented looking at the radiator grill, it looks horrible. Nice to know that even the chassis is of metal. I too noticed the SUPD, these little touches make the truck a nice detailed one, The whole front grill should be painted body color in my honest opinion.

Thanks
The only place to get this is ebay UK or other UK sites. I have seen a lot many of them on ebay UK. However there are chinese made plastic look alike toys of lambretta available in local toy shops.

The ones available on ebay Uk are Lambretta SX200 which are nicely detailed in 1:12 scale, if you are looking for the earlier lambrettas they are available in 1:43 scale.

More over New ray had a 1:18 or 1:12 LD125 available with them, might be available in some local shops, else check online. I hope this info suffices. Here is the ebay Uk search results

RC Truck Fans and users anyone?

Off late, I ve become pretty interested in purchasing and playing with a really good RC Truck like the ones used by people who post videos in You Tube and other places.
Heck, I got to know that there is even an international RC Truck Championship held every year in Germany.

I took a look at a couple of websites and understand that these machines are pretty expensive, even if bought in USD in the US, however, going by their build quality and the list of spares given in the sites, I m sure they can be used for a long time once bought. Am I correct?

Is there anyone on TBHP who currently has/uses/plays with 1:14 or 1:16 RC Trucks/HEMM/Cranes etc and can give me a few ideas to start with?

Any help and inputs are eagerly looked forward to.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Guys,
Today I experimented with my DSLR and the Honda bike. The two pictures were worth posting. Both are with same settings except for the aperture the first one is with F = 11 the second one with F = 5.

The difference is the with higher F number the background is more clear and give a lot of depth to the image.

There is a gap between the seat and the body. That is because I have not glued it on fear that the glue might spoil the paint. I will stick a double-sided tape to put seat in proper position.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Manish, very good photography. Seriously.

I too bought Nikon D3000 SLR last year but could not explore its possibilities much and so in a fit of frustration, sold it only last month. The Nikon did not have live view and as my photography is strictly vehicular, I found it a bit of a pain!

Your point about the Navistar's radiator grille looking plasticky was taken seriously and we (wife and me) have just finished painting it matt black. I will post the images after the job dries.

When in Delhi, I missed out on the scale models displayed at the Tata hall. There were 1:43 scale models of the Venture MPV and Aria (MPV / SUV/ Crossover / Estate ??? - call it what you want) on sale and so requested one of my senoirs to get me a scale model of the Venture and Aria. I have just received them and will post images as soon as possible.

Amar, It’s sad you sold off your Nikon, the D3100 which replaces D3000 is on par with 1100D, unfortunately that model was not available in the shops so bought 1100D.

Nice that you guys painted it matt black, and that means you bought that model?? I would say nice addition, now we wait for the pictures.

I would also like to have all the Tata line up but first want that 1:18 Nano. Let’s see I already bought a VW T2 Bus and a 1936 Pontaic. More on that later.

Ravi Bhau,

I would love to have those Lambretta's in my collection, considering I have over 22 vespa scooters, Bad news none are available in bangalore :(.

We can exchange ideas, tips and tricks too. You can post pictures of the "Lawn Material" for making carpets here so as for the members to benifit from it.
