Some more off the net..
The names (used by the makers) maybe different of what we use in India but these cars were or are sold in the Indian Market.

Most of the cars are present there. Now If only someone could get them.
Scale is 1/18 for all I suppose.

1.) Opel Corsa:

2.)Opel Corsa Sail:

3.) Chevrolet Optra:

4.) Daewoo Matiz (or Chery QQ??):

5.) Honda CRV (new):

6.) Honda Civic:

7.) Chevrolet SRV:

The big suspense I first promised was:
  • Buick HRV (same as the Chevy SRV in India).
Its a chinese model, and a friend of mine went to an auto show in china and picked it up for me. Crazy detailing and heavy. Working sunroof cover, fuel filler cap, parcel tray as well as boot lining to reveal the spare wheel. Seats Recline and gear lever slots into three positions. Its red with working suspension. I forget the name of the maker.

Now for the big ones.
  • Minichamps Bentley Arnage (Anthracite Grey with Hotspur interiors) Dealer Edition
  • Minichamps Bentley Azure (Fountain Blue with Linen Interior) Dealer Edition.
I spent an obscene amount of money on these two, buying them from the Bentley website and having them fedexed to India and then paying duty on top of it. Dont think Ill ever do that again, but just couldnt wait to get them. They arrived in bottle green Bentley boxes and look like expensive wine.
  • UT Models 993 Porsche 911 Gold with Red interiors
  • UT Models 993 Porsche 911 RS Blue with Grey interiors
Bought off ebay and sent to a friend in San Francisco who brought them back.
  • AutoArt Mercedes-Benz 280C Coupe Beige. Model Art in Bangalore
  • Minichamps '69 Ford Capri Red. Birthday gift from a friend from England brought back by his brother.
  • Maisto Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder Silver. Birthday Gift
  • Maisto Chevrolet Chevelle SS54 Silver. Birthday Gift
  • AutoArt Lotus Cortina. No idea about color as Ive not seen it yet as it hasnt arrived. Birthday Gift from my sister in Bangalore.
DAMN THATS A LOT OF CARS MAN...BELATED HAPPY BDAY TO YOU...

Salil, I think it was you who had referred me to Gift Centre in Churchgate. That shop has a load of Skoda Lauras and Toyota Corollas. Superb quality too. Thanks for the reference Salil. Its a treasure trove.

What about the 1:18 scene there? Anything happening. Even Modelart in Inorbit has dried up without any new stock.

in fact they did have quite a few 1:18s but personally i strongly advise u to go for the pro-rodz 1:24/26 range.the detail is mingblowing...maisto is finally putting some thought into developement of their cars..

I am into race cars and dont actually fancy the bling things by Maisto. I have to admit some of those cars look like a they deserve a place in my tiny collection.
