This the latest addition to my collection, a BMW M3 convertible by Kyosho. The novel feature of this model is its retractable hard top. ThIS 1:18 scale model has a three piece hard top that folds down completely and disappeares inside the boot, very much like the actual car. Kyosho has also supplied an instruction leaflet with the model on how the top is to be operated. Add to it, Kyosho's excellent quality and finish. This model is truely unique.

Today being a Sunday, I took out the BMW scale models from my 1:18 scale model collection.
One of my first BMW was a UT make BMW 325i, a very well finished model for the price, the black M6 is by HotWheels, the M5 SUV is by Kyosho bought for a princely sum of Rs. 6500/- from Gift Centre. I should have waited for Automania to procure it, then the price would be substantially less than what I paid. Automania are now the official Kyosho dealers. The BMW Z8 is by Auto Art and so is the BMW 325i WTCC having a sealed body. As this model has no opening feature, it is well finished and uneven panel gaps are absent. It has an elaborate roll cage and just the driver's seat.

thanks for noticing this Amar
I really must be blind not to have noticed it while buying. I will do the needful and exchange it for something else - or I will demand a discount from those monkeys. I am such a regular customer there that I can try and push them a bit.
thanks

Wonderful models Mr. Shankar. I have a similar 1:18 scale model of the Mustang in "California Red", a limited edition Auto Art model.
One of your ORVMs of your Mustang seem to be missing. If found, its easy to stick it back using Feviquick or return it back to Model Art who are known to sell defective models. I speak this from personal experience.

@ Amar, Nice stuff
@ dussey I too bought my El Camino yesterday, loved the detailing.here are some pics

Hey AmarPaithankar, congratulations on procuring the 1:18 BMW M3 Convertible by Kyosho.I have one in the same colour. It is,indeed,an excellent scale-model of a very desirable car.Love the rest of your BMW collection as well, especially the red 325i by UT Models. That one is very cool.I'd just like to point out that that black 1:18 BMW by HotWheels is not the M6 but one of the standard 6-Series variants.Cheers!

Hi PIV, thank you, you are right, it is a normal 6 series from Hotwheels bought quite a long time back.

Dussy and Agepins, the Camino is a massive, pure American model and unlike Maisto and Burago, Welly has maintained the 1:18 scale. This can be confirmed by Welly's boxes, the Camino box is bigger than other 1:18 scale model boxes. Maisto / Burago, in order to standardise box size, play with the sizes of their models.

Ram Bhai, how I wish I could also arrange all my models and take a picture of them. Tried once or twice to take a snap while cleaning them, but always ran out of patience or rather say, had to rush up the cleaning thing due to constant nagging by mom to clean up the stuff ASAP. Mom hates when I clean up the cupboards as I leave the things strwen all over and do it at my own pace. She hates my super fast pace I do the work with. I ran out of patience, by the time I could arrange half of the stuff.
