They are all metal, they are not available freely in India, one team bhpian wanted the 797 truck.

All these I got cause I work along with the sales Guys who have these as freebys to give to customers :). If you are looking for Caterpillar Scale Models, then few models are available at our Dealer Gmmco Chennai Head Office. But they are bit costly. There is an agency dealing into CAT merchendise but requires a bulk order.

I think I saw some CAT branded models at Starmark in Kolkata, not sure if theyare the serious scale models or just merchandise.

My latest 1:43's bought last week in a small gift shop in Lyndhurst/Beaulieu UK.

photos taken with the N8 camera phone.

1. Aston Martin DBR9 -
2. Maserati Gran Turismo -
3. Austin Healey -

Thanks for sharing the settings, having a longer exposure time helps. My present camera sucks and intend to buy a good one, cannon is the choise :).

As far as Cat models are concerned the ones that are available locally are plastic not to scale wired or remote electric toys. I doubt and actual scale models are available.

But you never know, just like CAT safety shoes by stroke of luck I got then in Shopers stop and now you don't see any in market.

Mr. Shankar,
Had you not mentioned the scale, these models could easily pass of as 1:18 scale ones. For 1:43 scale, the detailing is indeed very good and so are the photographs.
Camera phones also sometimes give very good results.

thanks Amar
actually the N8 has a 12mp camera - with carl zeiss lens technology so it is pretty much as good if not better than any normal point and shoot digi cam!
cheers

Nope gomotorbids.com :) I wanted the chamonix white one but ended up with gray.

Got the gas pump and figurine from scale18.com. I have a couple of spare pumps too.

Shankar Balan is back !! Lovely cars as usual, Shankar :)

@Arkin: Fabulous BMW !

Classics make me go weak in the knees..

thanks super
ive been pretty dormant on the scale model front owing to a simple lack of availability of quality classic models. last 2 trips abroad i only managed these few cars as I have posted in the last 6-7 months. Model Art / Auto Art India has become like the great gobi desert - only fit for vultures and buzzards and suchlike - absolutely no selection available there!
I ve been hunting for a nice Fiat 1100 to add to the familiar classics collection but no such luck.

You can get Starline's excellent 1:43 scale models of the Fiat 1100 and other cars at Automania Mumbai. They also have a website of the same name.

Hey Shankar, nice to see you back.
I'm sorry to repeat a picture on this thread, but here are Fiat 1100s I got from Automania. 1:43, beautifully made. You probably missed this post of mine.
