Also,I'm with you on the 1:12s.To me,one of the greatest charms of a scale-model is the miniature detailing.A 1:12 scale-model is just too huge. They, somehow, tend to look like they were easier to make. It's a well-crafted 1:18 scale-model that really makes me smile.1:43s however are just too small and once you're addicted to 1:18,well,they just don't seem to cut it.

To each his/her own... however I must comment about a scale size that seems to have been overlooked by most of you debating this topic... the 1:24 scale... when bought from the more renowned brands tend to offer exquisite detailing and finish at a size that is small enough to collect & display a multitude but at the same time big enough to show the intricacies of the vehicle... I agree that the 1:18 and 1:43 tend to be more of the popular scales though.

I have nearly 150 (1:18), 45 (1:24, 16 of which are frm precision manufacturers) and 400+ for scales 1:43 and under... so I have a broad viewpoint, each scale and manufacturer bring with it a particular aspect that makes it interesting... the 1:12 and 1:8 models are amazing, the material used, the detailing and finish is astounding, but lets face it, even if our wallets are big enough to buy it, they are not the easiest of models to display.

But at the end of the day its like I mention in my first sentence... to each his/her own. Have fun collecting.

I was looking through several diecast stores yesterday, and I realised how many conventional and supercars have been made in 1:24 which have not been converted into 1:18. For starters the Jaguar XK!!! :(

Nice!!!! really nice, the dash on the Citroen looks quite plasticky though. But both looks outstanding.

First Citroen GT indeed. I do not like this car one bit... Saw it in person as well. Irks me somehow. The One-77 on the other hand is Gorgeous!! :D

Agree completely on the One-77, disagree on the Citroen though, its a great looking machine..

I came across Peako models while looking for a model of a Zonda. Other than a pricey 1:18 version of the Zonda, they also do a 1:8 version which is MASSIVE. I would love to have one sitting in my room. With the 1:18 version going for about $399 on ebay I wonder how much this would be.

peako

Well, Forget the peako, but the Mondo Cinque and never open it. if you do that, It wont break!! :D :D
