You are very kind with your words.

I am not a professional at clicking pictures. Just learning to handle a DSLR. I used to have a point and shoot until some months ago. Its a world of difference with the features of a DSLR.

I have a D5300 Nikon and a 70-300 VR Nikkor lens. Several of these pictures were difficult since the subject was moving at 300 or more kmph.

Some of the other pictures you see-colorful headgear-that is just to show the mood and fun of at the venue. Just adds to completing the story.

I am glad you liked the pictures.

I am a hobbyist. I am handling camera for a while now I have a Panasonic FZ150. I once tried covering a Air Show by the 'Surya Kiran' group of IAF in Delhi and I know how difficult it is to capture a moving object at the centre of your frame that too in focus . Great pictures. all the best keep posting. I will soon go for a DSLR too. .

There is a small correction in the information you have provided. The aircraft in the picture above is Sukhoi SU-30 MKI. Dassault Rafale also have the canards (small wings in the front) but the engine intakes are towards the side of the fuselage. In comparison SU-30 MKI have the intakes under the fuselage.

You are right. I stand corrected. It is indeed a Sukhoi. And of course, it is Indian Air Force.

Hi folks. Just stumbled across this thread (still discovering the various threads on team-bhp ) It was truly spectacular. Running through the pics I could imagine the sound of the engines zooming! Does this event happen every year or once every few years? Is it happening in Bangalore this year (2016)?

This event happens only once in two years. Next is in 2017, hopefully.

I was planning on attending this on Thu to avoid the Fri and weekend rush. However, looks like wife needs to be at work on Thu and Fri. So I am now planning to attend this on the first day - 14th Feb (Tue).

Looking at the hours of the airshow, the hours are 1pm to 5pm on 14th and 9am to 5pm on the other days. Does anybody know if there is an airshow on the 14th (first day) or not?
