Surprisingly, if u go to Wikipedia's main page and search for team bhp or team-bhp, u don't go to the Article. It can't find the article on Team bhp. I don't understand why.
Only way to go there is to follow the link posted in this forum.

"team bhp" will not. "team-bhp" will.....
if you are still not getting it either try in another browser or test using another computer...

That is news to me, For example why do they have a wiki page for orkut? I may sound stupidd. team-bhp is not a revenue making site? Then it is not a case of advertisement.

i guess orkut is notable by 'their" criteria, and we're not. Wikipedia is IMHO an inherently biased setup, and even they are aware of it to some extent, but still nothing gets done about it

Deleted. Did not notice that this thread has two pages. ;-(

Guess this thread ought to be closed.

No, I don't think this thread ought to be closed. We are a community who, by our sheer presence and persistence, brought someone like Skoda India's falling outs into a Wiki page. There should be something we gotta do to get that deleted page back on.

Mods - am not sure how correct I am, correct me please.

Re: Team-BHP in Wikipedia

Can't we recreate the page there? I did some research on as to why the entry was deleted and couldn't comprehend much. Team-bhp certainly deserves an entry there. It would attract more contributions to the forum and make this an even awesome auto-knowledge-hub.

Couldn't help bumping a very old thread. But then. Something needs to be done.

Re: Team-BHP in Wikipedia

There is a reference of Team-BHP in this Skoda article at wikipedia Talk:

The article is long, use 'find = team' in your browser.

Re: Team-BHP in Wikipedia

Team Bhp definitely requires to be up on Wiki and can and will fulfill their norms. The site does have thousands of users and if Reddit and Quora can be on Wikipedia, why not Team-Bhp? Perhaps an old member who know the details of how and when and what of team BHP can post an article on Wiki and lets see how it goes this time around?

Re: Team-BHP in Wikipedia

Some things I learned while trying to get a company page up on Wikipedia:

* Wikipedia bases decisions on whether an org is notable enough to justify a separate article. Notability means the org has attracted the attention of reliable sources unrelated to the organization. Usually newspapers, reputed news websites, etc.

* If all the references are from within the org's website itself, that will lead to the article being flagged, and eventually deleted. PR website references are flagged too.

* Anyone associated with an org in any capacity who creates/edits a page about the org needs to disclose that.

If we Google 'TeamBhp', almost all the results under the 'News' category/tab will be self-references from within the forum itself, so that won't work. And frankly, I don't think there is a case yet for a wiki page.
