Now to figure out the best colour combination to paint the logo on the stand.
Wow, this idea did not stuck me. I have same model (not yet made) but would like to display as you have done. But 800 rupees is too steep for me (esp since the set I have is not original lego and clone which cost me far less than original).
I will see if rebrickable has something.

Could try this method of hanging the cars on the wall

https://imgur.com/a/hanging-cars-LueDohc

I would have loved to do this but my house is quite old and won't be able to drill into it.

Had this exact idea. I am still exploring options but as you, my flat / building is super old.

Re: Lego Technic

Just finished building the Ford GT model with my son, simply amazed at the level of detail in almost every mechanical aspect of the model. It's a 1:12 scale model and is for sure an attention graber in any home.

Just putting together the V6 engine is a joy and later when you see it working with the rear wheel drive, it's satisfaction on another level.

Basic form of Rack and pinion steering mechanism is wonderfully illustrated.

In the interior, there's a small lever mechanism to raise and lower the Spoiler even!

Re: Lego Technic

I am not a MOC designer or anything and fews days back I asked how people in Lego WhatsApp group as to how they are displaying their 1:8 or 1:10 supercars, especially ones at higher that a person's height shelf. I checked few MOCs on rebrickable, some were paid and some free but still i didn't have all parts required to make the free ones. So fee days back, I decided to take inspiration from those and make my own and here is the result. It may not be sturdy and I tried to use parts i have in my box. But whatever it is, my car (which is alt build of Porsche rsr 911) is staying nicely only it and feel proud i was able to make it.

Following the above post, once I decided to make the original Porsche 911 RSR model again, I had to dismantle the stand too as the pieces were needed for the same. So now I was without a stand. That's when I had idea to use an already available stand that I was anyways not using. It is from the BMW 1000RR technic bike. The white stand isn't really useful I feel so I used it for the technic car.

Check all pics for the first stand and then the BMW Bike stand repurposed for the car.

I wish I had got inspired as well when I was looking for a stand for my McLaren f1 car. Took the easy way out and 3d printed a stand.

But in hindsight now, not so easy. I am painting the stand now!

Re: Lego Technic

Hello Everybody, I was finally able to build the Lego Land Rover Defender classic which I had bought last year, actually mostly built by my 6 year old son with some assistance from me...

This set is not a Lego technic set but a Lego icon set and the detailing is simply amazing. I recommend all car enthusiasts especially 4x4 ones to buy it, one of its kind & the detailing is better than my Lego MB unimog & arocs set.

Following points to note:
1) It has 2 engine options a petrol V8 & Turbo diesel I4.....
2) It can be built as a regular Defender 90 or a fully kitted expedition type vehicle.
3) Accessories include 2 jerrycans, 1 Hi-lift jack, 1 tool box with full set of tools, 2 spare wheels, 1 fire extinguisher, 2 sand ladders, 1 each pick axe, shovel, hammer, axe.
4) Mods include bull bar with winch, external roll cage with roof rack, snorkel, front and rear flood lights, rock sliders.

Now let the pictures do the talking.

Re: Lego Technic

Nice to see this thread - I have been an old LEGO collector and builder - most of my sets were either given away or thrown or lost and most recently I started buying for my nephew who is into it as my kids outgrew there interest - but a few weeks back while I was in London I could not resist buying the AMG F1 Car and took a long time to build it for my new office showroom / studio.

Now need to get an acrylic box to place it .

Next buy CONCORDE.

Nice Office and that AMG really looks like it belongs there

The McLaren F1 set would be a nice companion for the Merc

Re: Lego Technic

Made by my son and myself across last few days. VW T1 Camper Van 10220. This set has honor of being sold for longest duration, something like 9+ years.

We intend to later break it and make the different free MOCs listed on rebrickable.

Edit: this is not original lego but a clone.

Re: Lego Technic

Behold my extremely amateurish attempt at painting the 3d printed stand

I made a mistake of not applying primer to the front part of the stand and was too lazy to clean it and do it again. So it took a lot of orange coats to get some semblance of neatness.

This is probably the first time i am picking up a paint brush after school :P
