Sir,
I may sound a lame advice but at-least update your bank account with a new number with the Operator choice of your preference as soon as possible and float that second number to all the contacts via mail and sms so that further misunderstandings and conflicts could be avoided well in advance and before the damage goes out of control.I know its a long fight but dont expect a speedy resolution specially from a Mobile Operator who is stating TRAI rule book to save itself.
:OT FYI, being a mango man,I had to sent mails to Reliance CC continuously for three long months requesting them to disconnect my number when I was in Mumbai on account of poor coverage in Sewri area, and I had to take the DOT way to get it disconnected after all the mail communication failed and tired of paying the monthly rent for three months for which I dint even use their service.
Regards,
Lalit Tyagi
Its perhaps a marketing stratergy, someone had a bulb moment! I never even heard of a network called loop. Its like the old days when a IAF friend stationed somewhere in the desert used to use a network that went oasis.
lets not even get into how many of them would stop using loopy. How many of us know such a network exists? and came to know of loopy through this thread? somebody add a poll!:D
great if its marketing, but....:D
Why did you ever choose loop HVk? There has to be an USP, that they used to sell to you. just curious. if the man who makes the road for us can be taken for a ride, Im scared now.

Just a little OT.
So tyagi, now we know what to do, if we want to get our connection terminated.
Send an SMS like a telemarketer to one of our own friend and ask him to complain against us. since we are not a genuine telemarketer they themselves will immediately disconnect our number!lol:

I think they are one of the oldest mobile service providers in India. They started their operations in 1995 as per wiki. Formerly known as BPL Mobile.
HVK sir, any update?
Has Loop sorted the issue?

No.
My number is still not restored.
Loop still taking shelter behind TRAI.
Whereas on our interaction with that office, we learn that there is no legal or technical hitch to restoring the number.
In the meantime, you should read this Press Release that was published yesterday:
http://blogs.rediff.com/thebravepede...hority-travel/
What may be of special interest is the audio recording of my meeting with Loop officials where they admit to mistakes having been made in case, "market practices" of defaming customers & promise to restore my number withing an hour..... but it is almost 2 hours long!:Shockked:

You are right. There is none.
This is confirmed news from the legal team of another major Indian telco.

Looks like Loop is scared of TRAI - they are going to ask them how they made mistakes, what was the basis for their original investigation, why they blocked my number on the first complaint - when TRAI rules say they can block on the third complaint, etc etc - and what penalties will be levied on them.

I hope TRAI is not waiting for Loop to initiate the action. They could very well start the process based on your complaint and force Loop to get their act together.
HVK, I would suggest you take this up with TRAI directly. Loop is only biding time hoping that you get tired and give up.
HVK Sir, I think now you have ample ground & evidence against Loop. I guess suing them is around the corner.

An online petition signed by 971 people - do they matter???? (looks like they don't, as per TRAI) - was submitted 11 days ago to TRAI.
We are directly engaging TRAI, they say it "should not be a problem" restoring the number, but when - that is a big Q no one is answering. It is like asking a critically ill person rolled into casualty ward of a hospital on his last breath being denied first aid or tretament...

When did you last hear of anyone winning a defamation case in India?

Not only defamation sir, you have more reasons to sue them.
Any progress on the matter or any communication by the operator?
They are all the same. I got Broadband removed from my fixed phone (BSNL). The phone went dead, and after a week when I finally got the JE she asked me whether I had Broadband disconnected, I said yes adding that I had not asked for the phone to be killed. She said it will take a minimum of three weeks since this has to be done from Chandigarh, but I can have a new number within the hour. I declined, and then the Dy Chief GM in Lucknow was approached on my behalf by a colleague, who told him that he has restrained me from taking Legal action. The sum total is the phone (on old no.) was back within an hour! So all are crooks. Not surprising since almost every operator has a large number of ex-BSNL officers. Old habits die hard.
What my colleague told me was they will hide stating that they have changed the number on he customer's request!!
