Chief

Just awe for this man, he has helped me immensely for my trip.

Just a quote of Einstein on Gandhi

"Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this Earth.”

This is suffice to describe Sir HVK

Good for you HVK sir and finally some relief and closure for the fellow who caused it all. Cannot be compared to the trouble you've gone through which is immense and for no fault of yours but at the same time do feel sorry for the guy who's been at the recieving end.

Everything happens for a reason. In my opinion you should take a personal call on how accessible do you want to be to people. I'm sure you have enough calls, mails, messages etc apart from your business which probably takes it's own toll. You've been managing brilliantly but in my opinion time to take a decision this time for your own self. You've done enough good already.

They send me an alternative sim card yesterday afternoon with the promise that all calls to my original number will be auto-diverted to it till my number is restored.
They did a turnaround late yesterday night & said they are unable to d an auto-divert for technical reasons and stated that the ball is now in TRAI's Court, they will not able to (a) restore my number till TRAI agrees, and (b) auto-divert my calls to the alternative number.

They are changing their stance by the hour, so we are preparing our appropriate strategy. Either they are bluffing all along trying to buy time or else they appear to be in some jam with TRAI. Perhaps telecom industry experts can comment.

Please start with a complaint on: http://pgportal.gov.in/

I have tried it in the past and it may work. This would be a top down approach. Right now, the telecom company is talking to TRAI and you are not in loop I guess. Choose "Department of telecommunications". I have lodged a complaint in the past against BSNL and they were very kind to have it fixed.

Kumara

They cannot auto-divert a barred number - doing so would require them to reinstate the number on the network, which wouldnt go down too well with TRAI.

Unfortunately Loop is a small operator where no known person works, else would've tried something through the old boys network.

Exactly - that is what they are saying.
This is being steered at the highest levels of management in Loop & they claim to be trying with TRAI to get the number ban lifted

This is what happens when you take a decision without doing your homework right. Loop Mobile is obviously suffering because of a hasty decision that was taken, without investigating.

If moralfibre can get BSNL fixed then that may be a good route. The joker who cribbed for nothing must get his mobile barred and the SIM thrown away! We must identify him and ostracise for a few months at least.

It's still not clear why TRAI acted in such haste. I was browsing through their complaint redressal procedure and it clearly states -

Quote:
11. In case the Originating Access Provider to whom a complaint has been forwarded finds that the unsolicited commercial communication originated from a subscriber who is not registered with the Authority as a telemarketer, it shall issue a notice to such subscriber to forthwith discontinue the sending of such unsolicited commercial communications and if such subscriber sends a commercial communication to any subscriber on a second occasion, disconnect the telecom resources of
such subscriber.
Source: http://www.nccptrai.gov.in/nccpregis...0Redressal.pdf

Even if they (erroneously) considered you a telemarketer, they should have first sent a notice as you were not registered with them.
