Update: Ordered the Fitsy set of adjustable dumbbells (15 kg) on Sunday, expected delivery by coming Saturday (22-Aug). Wanted to go with the 20kg set but that was sold out. Decathalon also was not having the 20 kg set available online so that option was ruled out as well. Dug through storage and luckily found out old dumbbell plates which are approximately 3 kg each, so those plates coupled with 15 kg set should be a good starting point I feel.
I did some googling and the most common style which I found was to do a split of push-pull-legs for workout. Not sure how well I would be able to do it with just a set of dumbbells but does this seem like a good approach. Basic premise, as I understood was that this approach gave 48 hours of recovery time to muscle groups and that is the minimum gap one should have between exercising the same muscle group (hope I got it right). Any good beginner workout program recommendations which you guys have followed and find useful, please share. That would help me.
Thank you for your inputs sbanerjee. You mentioned quite a few points and I have a few questions as well

Any specific reason for cardio after weights. Would it be ok if I did cardio in morning (morning walk in the park) and weights in the evening?

2. Always, and always warm up before you start training

This is one topic which seems to be vastly debated and there are different views on it. From things like static stretching to dynamic stretching to doing one set with out weights to get your body through the motions. Any suggestions on what to follow?

4. Get a tricep rod, EZ bar and a 5 feet bar as well. No need for olympic bars, as those Fitsy weight plates wont fit in Olympic bars.
|
Did not know what a tricep rod was, looked it up on Google and looks useful but is quite expensive so am planning to park this purchase for now. I would want to get started with dumbbells for now and gradually once I get into the rhythm would add barbell rods to the mix

5. Get a waist belt for training.
|
Would that be needed for the weights that I am doing with dumbells. My (rather limited) understanding is that waist belt is needed when you do heavy lifts like dead lifts or squats etc. with barbells.

7. Also get some extra weight plates apart from those that comes with dumbell sets. Two 7.5 kgs, and two 10 kgs for your squats and presses to start with. Then you can add up as per progress.
|
Will add these gradually.

10. Training is 70 percent diet, 30 percent exercise. Keep that in mind please

Very important point, totally agree.

For flat soled shoes, .... I have used them for the past 2-3 years and they are definitely better than the ones with curved soles, like running shoes have. |
Thank you for the link to the shoes comfortablynumb. Got an idea of what to look for and would try to find something similar. Not sure if these power ones would work for me since I am a size 11 and they max out at size 10. Last I recall, I had tried some power shoes (my favourite brand from childhood days) and the size 10 did not fit me. Interesting that you did not mention any of the Indian YouTubers. Some of the channels which I heard about from friends are Guru Mann Fitness, Fit Muscle TV & there was one more but I am forgetting the name.

Thank you gautamkhadse. However this combo also went out of stock and got ruled out. Seems there is a lot of demand for such dumbell sets and other equipments due to closure of gyms and also because people are getting more serious about health (due to ongoing coronavirus thing).

Point taken Samurai San, thank you for clarifying. Kettlebells parked for now. Hope you are recovering well and your back is better/healed now. Take care.
Am sorry if I am asking very basic questions, would give you an idea of my (lack of) knowledge and level of beginning-ness.
