Plain BS. Kidney failure is pretty extreme thing. Increase in Uric acid levels is caused by purine rich foods and NOT Whey Protein. Realize that Whey protein is the easiest to absorb (highest PDCAA and BV) unlike meat proteins, which are more prone to cause kidney damage, if any. The problem here in India is most of the docs know nothing or very little about preventive nutrition. In fact, highest quality Whey Protein easily qualifies as Super Food.

whenever I goto any doc with some ailment, and i ask them when can I start working out again, the immediate question is do you take any protein powders. If I say yes, then they say stop taking it. No amount of explaining to them on how its genuine, got from US, etc, etc. gets them to change that stance. So now I just say once in a while and not regularly (which is actually true for me these days )

Most doctors have absolutely no clue as to how and why muscles grow.

If it was true, the best physiques would be sported by doctors and not jocks.

These are the very doctors who prescribe dangerous medicines like Nimesulide and Ibuprofen. These outdated and dangerous medicines have been taken of by US FDA in USA.
Most of them don't know a zit of these supplements and how they can influence our life in a positive way.

I think the image they have in mind is - a buffed up dude taking steroids - and no amount of arguments will change that.
Although, I have met a couple of good docs like my ortho, who although not a sports injury specialist, has seen me improve/recover over the years and is quite amazed by bodybuiding
Perspectives can always be changed, but then I am too lazy to try and do it with every doc!

All this happened when I just peered in for a look in a bodybuilding supplements shop which has recently opened near my place. There was no customer and he started giving me all the attention and since I had heard some good reviews about Myofusion I asked him about that. I thought if it was available let me give it a shot since I wanted to gain some weight as I am very lean. He didn't have it and instead talked me into buying Muscle Milk saying it was the best selling in US.
Well I started using it twice a day one in the morning and one scoop in the evening. He had asked me to take 4/day. But since a couple of days I am experiencing some itching and yesterday night it became so bad that I got up from sleep scratching badly. There were no rashes just itching sensation. I initially thought it could be due some mosquitoes or bugs but I have been sleeping in the same bed for years. Then I suddenly realised about my new diet and checked on the web and came across some allergy issues for some protiens.

Could this be because of my intake of Muscle Milk? Do any one have any experiece with it? The online reviews for this is not bad. One of my lips got swollen when I saw in the morning which made me scary about this and I have stopped taking it now. I used it for a week until now.

^^ I am guessing you are not lactose intolerant or casein intolerant - and regularly consume milk. Check the ingredients (flavoring, etc) and see if you are allergic to any of those. Also could be the protein is fake and causing some allergy!

It's quite possible you are having an allergic reaction to some of the ingredients in the protein mix. I would get off of it ASAP and see if there are any changes(no scratching, etc).

Probably you can switch to Natural Whey Protein

1. Mobizox is prescription. AVOID!
2. Stop listening to BS instructors. Its like taking your car to an electrician for repairs. Its good if its an electric fault, but not too much. Go to a G.P. and let her decide the best course of action for you.
3. Docs have been lambasted here too much; don't beleive everything you read. Docs are pretty smart people. From experience [alas :( ]

I am still getting the rashes which itch badly. It's been about a week since I stopped using MuscleMilk. They appear spontaneously, last for a couple of days and fade away. I don't know if the allergic reaction, if any, should persist this long. This is the first time I use supplements and I get this experience.
