Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

I pay for netplus broadband with about 50 Mbps speed costing around 480 if you pay in advance for 3 months. Its not a fiber connection.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

550 a month for 60mbps (4.x mbps true download speed) from a local ISP. ISP does not care about torrent-ing. Only problem being poor customer support but it only goes down once a year.

Any inputs on how Tata Sky Broadband is in Chennai? Specifically Potheri/SRM area. Its the first time I am hearing the provider. The only reviews I see are in Pune and Bombay.

Currently paying around 1000 INR for 200 MBPS Tata Play Fibre connection with free landline connection in Pune. Downtime is negligible.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Sigh! After so many years with Airtel will be switching over to Jio Fibre. Airtel Fibre has had multiple outages in my area for the past 1 month or so. Have had no issues over the past 6 years but the past 1 month has been terrible.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Been using Airtel Fiber at my residence for over a year now. Extremely happy with the service and renewed it with an annual plan yet again this month. I have opted for the 999/- per month plan of 200 mbps, which always gives a better upload/download speed of over 240 mbps consistently. Also, by opting for an annual plan, a discount of 15% is applicable.

Had opted for Airtel over Jio Fiber because of multiple bad reports about Jio from family and friends in various parts of Mumbai. Airtel has been a long-standing player in the broadband market and hence was assured of seamless service experience. Glad to note that they haven't let me down.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

For me the corollary of the broadband is more important than the broadband itself. Due to patchy mobile network, the free landline (lifeline) that comes with the broadband becomes a boon. I don't touch the phone, but some family members put the landline attached to cordless to really good use. Back to broadband, it's an Airtel fiber connection. High quality, almost nil downtime connection, and prompt service.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Using some local type of broadband at 600 per month for 100 mbps. I do not remember its name. It is quite good, very rare downtimes. Any issues are immediately resolved. Earlier, I was using Den Broadband which was a sheer headache.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Airtel broadband. Their service is awesome. I pay 600 a month for unlimited data and free landline voice calls. Their downtime is very low, usually informed beforehand and call support is very good. I also use three mobile connections and dth service also. So one app handles everything.

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

BSNL fiber offering 100mbps plan with a FUP cap of 3300 GB for less than 1k per month. Speeds are great; service is fantastic. Over ~10 months, have had to call them twice due to connectivity issues; the service reps landed up within the day to resolve the issue(s).

Re: How much do you pay for your broadband?

Would anyone with airtel VDSL broadband help me with the settings of the modem for the WAN and DSL settings please? My old Huawei Modem conked off yesterday and while I ordered a new TPLINK modem from Amazon, I am not able to get it running. Contacted the Airtel technician and he has already played defensive saying that modems purchased outside might not work.

Some snapshots of the settings page in your modem would really help asap.

Thanks in advance for the help.

On a lighter note, BSNL is working with local private ISP's afaik in some areas, hence such good service. BSNL never had such capability to be an ISP especially in the modern world.

Could anyone suggest me whether i should switch to Jio fiber for HBO and other services or stick to ACT with static IP? Yes, i have a Static IP. Jio is not providing static IP through.

Hi @audioholic,

I hope you have ordered a DSL router.

I am still having a BSNL ADSL connection for backup internet.

Below are the screenshots from the UT-Starcomp modem supplied by BSNL.
