Driving the car out! & Keeping the GREEN In! - An environmentally conscious approach

Team,

I have been long thinking and little doing on this subject "How can I Keep the green in around while I drive my car out??"

I was looking forward to saying this as this forum is responsive, mature in thinking and has a will.

My Efforts in KEEPing the GREEN IN was
1. From last one year I planted a Tree sappling in front of my house, in bangalore.. and have been nursing it. (hope i can do same this year too)
2. Always uptodate on the emmission test for my OHC Vtec
3. Never have more than one car
4. Dont always drive on A/C
5. Invite/ join Car pools of relatives/friends / self on vacation/trips

I hope all will contribute their experiences and effort spent in keeping the GREEN with us.

"HOPE EVERY CAR WE DRIVE WILL FIND ITS OWN TREE TO PARK"

The tree planting idea is great! Plant a tree every year for every car you own.

Tree idea is nice one.
But

What difference does it make? If you are travelling same distance then you may travel all distance in one car or twenty five different ones your distance travelled is remaining the same.

adya33, Your point is taken. However in order to produce / manufacture a car, a lot of useful resources are extracted from earth, and lots of waste produced which we hardly notice as buyers. So many who love cars, and own more than one should can ponder over what goes into making such a car (like rubber, metal, paint, glass, leather, etc) and how it impacts the environment on the whole.

Anyway taking good care of one loved vehicle is better than having many without much attention paid towards it

FE has a direct relationship with the fuel you burn. keep it high and you save the earth to the best extent you can.

revving, screeching, burning out, harsh braking (because u did too much of accelerate in first place) etc add to pollutuon by scattering something or the other in the environment.

just in case, i wrote my ideas here.
