Re: Powered sun-glasses

Was planning to buy power sunglasses for a long time now!! So went to AV Optics, Ray Ban authorised reseller in Vijayawada Yesterday. Wayfarer Frame: INR 6000/- and glasses (essilor polarised): INR 11000/-!! Both my spherical and cylindrical powers are high. They suggested me to try contact lenses and regular sunglasses. But I am not so comfortable with that combination, spending regularly on contact lenses. Had no other option but to go ahead with 17000 hole in the pocket. Looked reasonable as my normal glasses cost me 6000 (frame) and 5000 (glasses).

Are you sure they were polarised .Based on my research polarised is not possible in power glasses .Also at 11k they seem pretty cheap as for my power of 6 I was quoted by Titan Eye at 25k plus just for lenses with antiscratch coating of Essilor brand . So finally settled for Titan Eye lens as Abe value etc were more or less equal to Essilor .
