This is Shocking indeed. I got to know about Sam's untimely demise when i read the news paper today. May your soul Rest in Peace.

There's a camaraderie amongst petrolheads that is unmatched amongst special interest groups. Read trip reports and see. Strangers roll into town and are given the keys to the house, welcomed into the family. Sam epitomized that camaraderie, inviting us into his world of cars, travel, music and food, our common interest cutting across class and community barriers. He was truly a renaissance man, and we will miss all the stories and lessons he shared with us. Making us realize the extent of the loss to his family, with whom he shared even more. My heartfelt condolences to all the people in Sam's family circle, especially his wife. My prayers go out to you that you all will receive comfort in the near future, especially from knowing that he made this world a much better place with his approachability and warmth. God bless.

I still am not able to get over the fact that he is no more. Will miss him a lot and for a very long time.

WOW!!! Did not know that I would feel such sorrow learning about the demise of a person that I had never met in person.Like many, I had never met him but felt that I knew him so well. Many people, in their death leave behind sorrow/void/ grief/emptiness but very few leave behind a LEGEND!! That's what Sam has left behind. How many people can think of an obituary running into so many pages and that too almost exclusively by most people they do not know. That's a life worth living, even if for a short while.

SAM RIP!!!. Keep smiling wherever you are.

I am deeply saddened by the news. I got to know when I read the paper this morning. His posts and travelogues were a great read. He has touched many of our lives by making us smile when we most needed it.
