Been listening to it since yesterday. The song selection is better than that of 91FM. Cant say anything about the RJ yet though...

Have been listening to Mirchi since 3 days now, it feel s somewhat better than 91 FM maybe because there aren't many ads yet in it. The RJs are not really as good as in Radio city.

I have listened to a bit of it over the last couple of days.. So far, looks like their choice of music is not bad. And I would definitely appreciate if we can have English/Hindi speaking RJs too.. I've only heard the RJs speak Kannada so far..

It could also be the case that I have only tuned to it only when the Kannada RJs are on air..

Mirchi Sucks..... they are suffering from schizophernia....

The song selection is better, but the RJ speaks only kannada.

Nothing against the local language, mind you, but... but.. if u are speaking in only kannada, why not play kannada songs too....

In a city like bangalore where the kanadiga population is presumed to be only arnd 30%, wonder who they are trying to target.

IF i have understood these guys strategies correctly,
  • I, a local resident, will get attracted to Mirchi as they speak MY language.
  • I will call em up, speak to the sweet RJ in kannada.
  • Feel happy and identify with them as they speak MY language.
  • And promptly request that they play a HINDI song!!!!!!!!!

Cheers
Ajay

Radio Mirchi is the only other FM available in Pune than VividhBharati. But, it was very well received in Pune (started 4 years back) and is still going pretty strong.

Same here in Hyd. I think AIR also started another channel Rainbow recently. Radio Mirchi too started a few weeks ago.

Couldn't listen to it much as I am not having my car now. Whenever I tuned in at home I was getting only telugu songs.
