Hi Guys,
I am sitting in my office in Chennai (Chromepet) and can feel the building shaking NOW. At first, I thought something was wrong with me. But, when i called up my other colleagues, everyone felt the shake.
At this point of time, my table is shaking. Did any of you guys in Chennai feel this?
In my office on whitefield road, the equipments were mildly shaking. Anything that others felt?
Hey friend, did you feel that too. :Shockked: I was in fact looking up on the net to see if anything of this sort happened apart from my office. Yes, we did feel tremors here at the Airport Road office. Hope those were mild and never return back with a bang
My office evacuated. But I never felt anything
Oops, I just created another thread for what I felt in Bengaluru ! I dont know where the epicentre was.
Wife called from electronic city and said the same too. She felt it seems.
I felt nothing(Bommanahalli).
Guys,
Felt the earthquake in Chennai. I read that there is a Tsunami warning.
The epicentre is near Northern Sumatra, we can probably merge the two threads as it seems like the same earthquake has had an effect everywhere. From what I have read, the tremors were felt in Kolkata too.

Tsunami warning issued in Indonesia after 8.9 magnitude earthquake!
Tremors felt in Residency Road too.
There is a TSUNAMI WARNING: Please inform your near and dear ones, residing near coastal areas. please:
A massive earthquake measuring 8.9 on the Richter scale rocked Indonesia on Wednesday afternoon. Indonesia's geophysical agency issued tsunami warning following the quake whose epicentre was in Aceh.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre issued Indian Ocean-wide tsunami warning.
Tremors were also felt in Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Patna and several other cities on the eastern coast of India.
If these warnings (from Indonesian as well as Indian government) are to be believed then the people in coastal regions of India have got around 1 hours time to evacuate.

Im in North Bangalore and didnt feel anything, anyone else here?
I felt it at my office in ORR, Bangalore.
Appalling that people did not want to evacuate, despite repeated attempts at getting them out. Surprised that there was no official announcement from facilities operations/security either.
