Nostalgia : Reviving the memories of long gone brands

Just read this article:

Coca-Cola will revive Citra, a clear-lime drink it bought from Ramesh Chauhan two decades ago but junked in favour of Sprite, in a move that analysts believe is more to target price-sensitive consumer segments than to unlock the brand's heritage value.

Coca-Cola to revive Citra after 19 years, aims mopping up volumes - The Economic Times

The part which intrigued me is that Coca Cola have chosen to revive the Citra brand. I always thought that the Gold Spot brand was more nostalgic but that could be because I dont quite rate the other existing orange brands too much. I am no branding guru, but would like to discuss our favorite brands that should be revived. What would you like to see?
Gold Spot, Thrill, any other?

Mods: I didnt find a thread on dormant brands, please merge as appropriate

There was another lime flavored clear soda drink which we used to buy for Rs.2 during childhood, its name was 'Sprint'. Would like to see that also revived My parents didn't know the concept of pocket money so I used to go to school without a single penny in my pocket everyday. Buying that drink was really considered a luxury when you can get Lime Soda for 25ps, anyhow there were other rich friends who gets few rupees in a week as pocket money..

The only electric product I have seen working in perfect condition from my birth till now (three and a half decades) is the Rallifan table top fan which we have. Can't say I like to see it revived because the brand still exists I believe.

If any brand had to be revived it had to be "Gold Spot! The zing thing.." am sure it hold more nostalgic value than Citra

Canada Dry anybody? I believe it was high in caffeine content and the extra froth it came with became a matter of concern when the brand was alive back in the 90's.

Citra SUPER COOLER!

Of course we remember it! Gulping it down daily because of Delhi's intense heat and of course the "cool factor"

Canada dry - cool cool Canada (somehow the drink never became popular)

But yes:
Gold Spot - the zing thing is something which was more popular and also existing for a very long period.

Buddy, sprint is very much available in 300ml glass bottles and 2L plastic bottles. And in some places even more available than sprite/7 up. Are you not still in kerala?

Any one remember Citra's competition where they asked you to arrange the three circles ( 2 yellow, one orange) into something meaningful ? One witty entry was a girl sun-bathing in the sun.

Does anyone remember the NP 007 Bubble gum and the Big fun bubble gum where you used to get cricket runs in each bubble gum.

How about the small ice cream pieces called Bon bons or something?
Biscuits called Delite by Britannia which had an orange filling. Awesomest biscuits I ever had.
I also liked the Petit Beurre biscuits but got used to better ones outside later.

Not sure if it's extinct or not, but one brand that comes to mind is Fryums!

I still remember the jingle: Fryums, ta tum, Fryums, ta tum! Just fry them, just try them! Just pop them in a bowl, let the fun times rolllll!

Sorry, couldnt resist it!

Cheers,
Vikram
