Yes my boy.
James Mason played the Captain in 1954.

I will give it to you when we meet next.

My first classic - the 1962 Fiat Super Select inspired my username.
And my daily dose of Team-BHP inspired me to buy this beauty !

Your name should have been MR.BEAN!!

I selected the name Aquamaverick because Maverick comes close to defining me as a person. "A maverick is a person who shows independence of thought or action, a non-conformist or rebel".:D

Also Top Gun happens to be a a movie that i like where Maverick is the call sign of Tom Cruise.

Wanted to use only Maverick but usually its already taken so i added Aqua as prefix which denotes my sunsign in broader terms as a water based sunsign which is (Pisces).

Regards,
A.M

Inspite of being an early adapter to the internet, I could hardly ever find a 'rohan' as a available username. And hence came up with rowhun. It also has some connotations to my wild-side (hah!) which is why it has a 'Hun' and then all these Huns and Vikings were awesome sailors and their battleships were awesome, so i chose 'row'.

nothing specific. already i was using this name for few other sites. so continued the same. resembles close to my name, so that i wont forget.

Poor Jules Verne must be turning in his grave. When he named Captain Nemo in 20,000 leagues, he must have never thought that his mysterious, slightly crazy anti-hero would no longer be manly.

Be proud of your name and do read the classics my friend. Nemo was mysterious and the reason he was named that by Verne in TTLUTS was because in Latin it means "No name" or "Anonymous"

Here is an illustration of the mad genius Captain.

Sam, thanks for the insights and i had no idea about Jules and his captain. What i know is that you like this name a lot :-)

My real name is Sudipto and I drive an Esteem. So why S-Team? Because most mechanics - at least in Calcutta - pronounce Esteem as Steam (which is extremely annoying). Therefore to prove that point and further explain the way it is correctly pronounced I have written down how the word should be pronounced.

My name is Joe and I own a Honda. so like a nut in that Hurry i called myself johnda lol:

Sam, you forgot mention that Captain Nemo was actually an Indian prince. That connection is explained in the later book Mysterious Island, where Jules Verne describes the last moments and death of Caption Nemo.

When Caption Nemo was played Naseeruddin Shah in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, there were lot of surprised people to whom I had to explain the connection.:)
