Hey guys good to see metalheads here on t-bhp. My favorite vocalist is Maynard from Tool / APC. Very different from the traditional metal singers. Check out this song by APC

Listened to Dimmu Borgir's new album (or atleast tried to). They're a brilliant band that are also now stuck in a rut. This is a band that created magnificent albums like Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, Spiritual Black Dimensions and Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia. I think it's going to be hard to outdo their earlier work due to the new lineup.

I'd discovered this awesome instrumental progressive rock/metal band called 'Thanatopsis'. They are from the US and so far, they've come out with three albums. This track, 'Vitreous Humor', is from their most recent album: Anatomize (2006)

Their music is purely rock/metal, with some funk dialed in for good measure. Listen to their experimental tunes, especially the guitar riffs and solos and instantly, you will recognize the heavy influence of Tom Morello in it. The kill-switch, over-under-technique, etc is used liberally. The fantastic drumming coupled with superb shredding is an absolute treat for those who like exploring music!

Thanatopsis is:

- Buckethead: Electric/Acoustic Guitar
- Travis Dickerson: Keyboard, Production
- Ramy Antoun: Drums

Sorry Abhay. I read your reply today. I was in Pune since Thursday. The gig was fantastic.

Are you coming for the Katatonia show?

re: The Heavy Metal & Rock Thread

its too much of a short notice, I would probably have joined too if he could have arranged my ticket too

Judas Priest have announced that they will tour in 2011 and that will be their Last tour called the Epitaph Tour. I really hope they come to India finally as this is the last chance to see them live. Halford's voice was going and these guys are getting old, not sure if this is the end or will there be any studio effort in the future.

You should have told me I could have tried man. Apparently it was a big hassle. I had to e-mail him my ID and he had to stand in a queue for quite a while to get the tickets.

I have heard rumors about Priest playing in India next year. However, rumors are rumors, but I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. An open air Priest concert would be momumentallly legendary man!
