You're absolutely right, whiteknight.
The optra magnum prices are very reasonable. I've found one that I like. Will hopefully check it out soon.
2008, 22k, LT diesel. Asking price 6.5 lakhs, in warranty.
If I like this I will bargain and pick it up maybe.

Does anyone have a spare price list for the Magnum. I'd really appreciate it.

Agree with procircuit_234. Please do your due-diligence.

Please check this thread . You could find most of Magnum owners here. Problems faced by Magnum TCDI owners are discussed on the thread too.

hey guys, from one of the above posts it appears as if Cedia has been out of production? Is that so? I guess it is still selling about 90 units a month.

If u are on a strict budget of 7 lakhs then you have the Hyundai i20 CRDi, Fiat GP 90 HP Emotion Pack, Maruti Dzire Vdi, Tata Manza Quadrajet and Mahinda Xylo E4 to choose from.

The Sx4 Vxi CNG is abt 8.75 on road

hi acid. I'm not considering hatchbacks.
currently I'm trying to figure out if the magnum would be a good move. what are your opinions?
is it reliable?
parts?
servicing?
maintenance costs?

Dear team.
We have narrowed down to two options.
1- New ford fiesta S. Price- 7.40 on road.
2- Sx4 zxi. Price- around 7.95 on road.

Your opinions on these two cars and which one you feel I should go for.
Also, i'm confused between the Sxi and the sports. The latter looks awesome but ride is rough.

Of the two my vote would go to the Fiesta.
If the car is going to see the rear seat being used extensively especially by parents then get the Sxi if not go for the S. The sports suspension on the S is tuned for better handling & has a harsher ride.

SX4 is a glorified milk van IMO.

lol. never heard that one before.
I guess you're right. it is going to be used by my family so the sxi does make more sense.
I yearn for the sports though.

S owners- is the ride bad at low speeds only or at high speeds as well?
how is it on good road surfaces?

@procircuit_234. Magnum TCDi is a different car. Agreed that it might not be the one to take to track. But for daily highway usage, it is highly competent and way faster than Baleno.

Fiesta feels half a segment smaller than Baleno. How did you feel? I don't really see it as an upgrade. It would be my fun car that I take when I travel alone. Unfortunately, I don't have that much money, so my car purchases are always a confluence of interests of my family.

The optra isn't all that easy to maintain and so i've let it go.
The fiesta feels like the same segment as the baleno. It is definitely better build and NVH levels are higher, apart from that everything is the same.
I've decided to wait a few days for the polo 1.6 and the linea turbojet launch.

When is the new fiesta due ?

Dear team, I need your help urgently. I've come across a civic, black 2007, done just under 20k. It;s in showroom condition, not even a scratch.

What can I pay, is 8 alright ?
It seems to be a wee bit high but the car is in as pristine a condition as can be.
Please please reply soon. I don't want to let this go.
