According to me, overall Petra is a better package. Go for it, unless some feature/aspect which is better in Ikon is crucial for you (like turning radius).
Enjoy

i think i have overcome my dilemma of sorts!!!
would be going in for the petra!!! what the heck, it's obviously the better package!!! anyways, my bro-in-law was planning to take a new ikon so i'll take that if i want to ride an ikon... so it's going to be the petra 1.6 ELX.. for me..
and the color is moon mist grey!!! i wanted to go for a black color, but it seems they don't have a stock of that color in the entire region(read chennai, bangalore, and not even in mumb, would prolly have to wait for a couple of months or maybe more to get a black)
so would positively be booking one by the coming monday and take it in a couple of days, will post the pictures once i take delivery....
it has been a helluva lot of advices from all you guys out here...

Waiting for 2 months is rubbish. Push the dealer hard or get Fiat sales e-mail ids from him and follow up with them. Same was the case when I bought black Petra. I got it less than a week with help of Fiat Sales and also push from dealer.

i'll try to do that!!! and btw, i also heard them say that, the delay is becoz of the mumb floods, due to which they have currently stopped the production of new cars!!! could that be the case??

Best thing would be to contact their sales team directly and correspond with them rather than believing what the dealer or someone says.

Congrats AK. But Monday is a fair distance away. Things can change.

Regarding the car colour, push sales. For me the pushing was done by the dealer who went to the factory and got a car released for me.

All this to BUY a car?????? I hate to play spoilsport, but what if they're not producing cars anymore ? Its been two months since the Mumbai floods, for god sake!

So what Steeroid? It is AK's decision. If he sticks to the decision and wants black, this is the way he could get it. Of course, Fiat is not Hyundai. Or Tata for that matter.

He needs one particular color while others are available and, if I am not mistaken, even Honda city had long waiting period for a particular color. And if they are not producing car anymore, then there is nothing to buy.

i wouldn't have said that if i were you
but the color is a personal choice and each person is entitled to what he thinks is best right??
i would definitely like to stick to a black, but if that is not a practical option (waiting for over 2 months) then i would go in for the moon mist grey!!!
which is not such a bad color, (like i said it was my personal choice)
so let me see!!!

now that's one helluva excellent way to buy a new car. LOL! best of luck and post the pictures with your experience with the dealers soon.

also tell the dealers they are gonna be mentioned on the prestigious team-bhp.com

maybe you will get a better response than others.
