Best car for 6-7 L ?

Gurus,

First of all, Thank you for all those welcome messages! link you guys made me feel home. really!

Now, one of the reasons i was searching frantically for an auto forum was that i was thinking of upgrading from my Maruti 800, which i bought in a hurry 2years back.

Since i cannot start a thread in the "What Car" section (me being a newbie), i guess i will have to ask my questions here.

..So i have this 2 year old maruti that i want to sell off, and buy a bigger & better car.

6 to 7L is my budget - can be stretched a bit, but not much.

Like any regular IT guy, i looked at Ikon, I looked at Accent.

For some reason, i am not able to like Ikon....

Accent...well...looks too plain to me

So i was collecting brochures, going thru the specs etc, and another one emerged: Baleno!

Looks really bad, and absolutely no snob value that you would expect from a 3 box car...but it looked really VFM to me, and last few days study of articles in this forum confirms my findings.

Fusion ? ...dont know, some say over priced..and i really dont know what Ford will do with it if they cannot sell it much..a price cut six months down the line would make buyers look like fools...but still i have it my list, since i like the looks.

then one of my cousins tells me that he can get a good used City CVT if I can wait...but used cars = maintenance issues ?

gurus, i am confused..

Like anyone else, I am looking for a balance of Driving Experience, FE, Resale, Comfort, VFM..

I can make compromises, but Less maintenance worries and VFM are top priorities for me.

Looks is important for my wife though

I drive 25km daily.

help me.

thank you all.

(How I wish I could buy that Lexus GS300 again! )

other members can help you more on this. IMO, baleno is a good car. its VFM & delivers a good FE. & its a maruti suzuki. so the maintenance should not be an issue. dont know much about the resale but it wont be bad.
