I must comment that performanceracingstore.com is the most pathetically designed website I have come across. If anything, Team-BHP has proved that there is a sizeable bunch of Indian car enthusiasts that are net savvy.

If you cant do something right, you'd better not do it at all.

i assume budget is not a major constraint for you. If that is the case come down here walk into a Maruthi showroom. get a base model baleno without alloys and stuff. take it to KS or performance auto... drop in a TC, exhaust, intake, a new chip, porting polishing and the works, remove the rev limit and the engine is ready to rock.

drop a nice 15" and upgrade the suspension and brakes. LOL your mean street machine is ready.

body kits are available in plenty. not a major problem.

unless you are ready to wait for the launch of the civic (i dunno when its going to be launched) the baleno would be the best option for you.

to cut down on the price you could try for some well maintained used cars which again should not be much of a problem.

go ahead the baleno would be the best for you.

Thanked: Once

Lancer or a OHC would be just good enough for the job

A baleno anytime but I cant imagine how skirts and front and rear fenders will look on it

Best thing to do is land up at RIO for exteriors and KS motor sports and Team Motor works for engine modifications

If you want to do up stuff by yourself go through the modifications and accessories section we do have about everything for it

The mods can cost anything between 30k to ... anything you want.
for 2L however you can get a turbo, alloys, chips, kit, brakes and maybe NOS.

What is Chips...?

BTW, I plan to do most of the mods - (intake, wheels, alloys, brakes, engine bay wiring ) myself except for any major engine upgrade

Any people down south - B'lore or Chennai that deal in performance parts and spares

hey rain man you gotta make up your mind. you need ot decide how much money you want to spend and how fast you want to go.
for examlple just speed:
the two zens which came to bombay and won the zen1300 classs are for sale. as it is with racing seats mags etc.etc. except NOS for 4.5l does 15 secs.
whereas you want to buy a baleno/city and get it to do 15 seconds will cost you 2-3 lacs in mods alone.
and skoda rs to 15 seconds will cost you 3 lacs again on mods only.
so its all upto you my man.

hey lambo:
i need to see this 300bhp ohc..lol
its impossible...maybe dom said it was a project on paper.
a 300bhp ohc will do 12secs my friend....why is it not on the track....????

hey also how do you do research for indian cars on the indian sites????
we buy indian cars and look for all thier parts on foreign sites..
also the civic coming ouit in india is a stupid 140 bhp sohc which is a stage better than the vtec. you will be better of workin on an ohc than the civic they are going to launch.
if you really really wanna blow money and have a monster on your hands you can buy the foll:
1. mondeo with a fully moddedd race spec engine and turbocharged ataround 500bhp.
2. honda city with a good hybrid in it with turbo for around 300bhp.
3. a baleno with a crazyn engine swap and turbo at 300 horses.
these will also be drivable on road.
now for the drag only:
any of the following baleno, honda, zen with a full race spec engine...doing 13 seconds
this will cost you from around 3lacs upwards touching 8 lacs for the mondeo.
THESE DO NOT INCLUDE CAR PRICES.
ALL OF THEM WILL TURN OUT TO BE GUARANTEEED MONSTERS!!!

Hey Lambo, it's Dom's dream to make a 400bhp City one day. There aren't any 400bhp Citys at the moment. It's no walk in the park to make such a car.

It might be possible to get 400bhp from a 1.5 but, then you'll have to get brakes, clutches, tyres........ ok make that everyhting, to suit that sort of power.

Sorry about the 300BHP city but it is still possible to get a city to crack the 15sec barrier.
If you can find an OHC you can get an apprx 200BHP with mods and all.
The best person to contact in banglore is dominic.
He will help you out.

There are a few Lancers going around with the EVO VI engines. There is this guy in Bangalore who has got one. There are guys in chennai who specialize in doing this.

The deal:
pick up a stock used lancer with a good chassis. Bring in the EVO VI powertrain (engine & Tranny). put in stiffer springs and brakes. It will cost you close to 7L. about 4L for a used lancer and about 2.5L for the mods. The engine would have been used for racing in malaysia. they give a guarantee of sorts if im not mistaken.

incidentally, the Chevy Optra is GM's platform for the WTCC (world touring car championship). with a 270+ bhp engine and 17" wheels and the works!!! dont have any other details. last issue of BS Motoring had a pic. it looked pretty neat...
