Guys,
Thanks for your contribution till now.

I am in really confused state, whether to go for a new one or purchase a second hand vehicle.
this will be our first four wheeler and we don't have any experience. So you people can imagine we will be new at the drivers seat.
So, please recommend whether to go for a new one or used one.
Thanks.

I would say go for a used Sumo for now.. Don't spend too much money on a new/old 4-wheeler. After you get used to driving in bangalore conditions, you can think about upgrading to the Innova..

If you are going for a new vehicle, go for the Innova if you are looking for a long term ownership and if you can afford it. Else our good old Amby is the best..

Remember, when you are carrying your family with you. Road Safety should be the topmost priority in your mind.

Cheers,
Manish.

Hmm, I am searching for a good second hand car since the past 4-5 months.. But to no avail so far.. Here is what i did, First of all, find a good & reliable car mechanic. Secondly buy the AdMag or FreeAds weekly newspaper, Look for used vehicle ads. Book and appointment with the car owner and ask him to bring the vehicle to your mechanic's garage. (Usually most people will bring the vehicle to the garage.) Let the mechanic have a thorough look at the vehicle. Check the odometer, insurance and registration papers.. If you notice any tampering with anything, back out of the deal immediately..

I had almost zeroed in on a Maruti Van 2003 model and was about to pay the cheque to the previous owner, when my wife suggested that we show it to our mechanic. We found it to be an accident vehicle.. The tinkering and painting work was done very well from outside.. But thanks to my wife's advice and the mechanics honest opinion i backed out of the deal..

Remember, you want to buy a car, not the previous owners worries..

Maruti True-Value and Nandi Toyota have their used cars division. But their price is over-hyped..

I am still searching..

- Manish.
