There is a breach of Lake between Mandya and Maddur resulting in closure of Bangalore Mysore Highway. You can take a deviation from Mandya to Malavalli to reach Mysore.

The rivers are in spate, so Kanakapura Road is also risky, for the next 2-3 days.

For those taking Kanakpura road this evening towards Bangalore, please note that the traffic from Somanahalli to NICE road, passing by Kaggalipura is choked. It took me 40 mins an hour ago. Very heavy rains with very low visibility. I’m also noticing heavy water logging as well, in pockets. Please drive with caution.

Yes, received today a video on WA of the same. Look at the water flowing from those side tiles of the new flyover ramp. Where would these water go once the road is constructed.

Google maps still suggests taking the Kanakpura road to Mysore. I am travelling tomorrow to Mysore and will be taking the Kanakpura road just to be on the safer side.

I took the Kanakpura road today to reach Mysore, didn't want to take chance on the main highway. Took me 2.45mins to reach home. Roads are good till Malavalli. Post that till Mysore roads are in mixed conditions with some potholes. Be careful on this stretch.

Saw in today's The Hindu that the main highway between Bangalore and Mysore has been restored.

Yes, it has. A friend came down to Bangalore via the highway. His friend came yesterday and was diverted at Mandya due to the road being closed at Ramangara due to waterlogging.

Got screwed again on the Mysore - Bangalore route yesterday. I myself have advised many times to not travel on a long weekend evening to Bangalore on Mysore road. But this time I thought I was smart enough to take the Pandavapura - Bellur cross route and get spared. Nope, looks like everyone tried to be smarter and the whole crowd was there.

While Srirangapatana to Bellur cross was smooth, man, what a crowd on the highway later on. Drove bumper to bumper from Nelamangala toll (on the Mangalore NH side) till Hebbal.

I think it all translates to what time you choose to hit the toll at Nelamangala. I think most people want to make the best use of the weekend to back in Bangalore by late evening. And that's where it rips the traffic wound.

If one can plan to be home by 1530/1600 for example, mostly its a smooth traffic at most of these hotspots.

I took the Kunigal - Bellur Cross - Nagamangala - Srirangapatna route today, from bannerghatta road side this route is longer by 60 Kms but it took only 2 hours and 30 minutes to cover this distance. It was a peaceful drive with less traffic (6:00 AM - 8:30 AM).

During the return, I tried the Mandya route. It took 2 hours and 40 minutes (3:00 PM - 5:40 PM). At least at 3 places there were huge traffic at the diversions. It was a stressful drive compared to the Kunigal route.

Jist returned from another drive to Mysore.
Bidadi bypass is open to traffic towards Bangalore.
Road condition is very good, it was raining heavily so couldn't really enjoy the drive.
Waiting for the full expressway to open, it will be a delight to drive.

Saw on twitter that, BLR - Mysore highway got blocked for 5 hours due to lake overflow near Wonderla.

Did anyone took the route today? As I've a trip planned, is it preferable to use Kanakapura/Pandavapura Road tomorrow?

Think this happened sometime yesterday I assume. My uncle took the late evening Airavata to Mysore yesterday around 7pm and he reached Mysore around 11pm, no problems at least for a Volvo bus
