I'm driving to B.R Hills this weekend from Elec City. Is the Kanakapura road the best option as shown in Google Maps? Are there any places to stop over for breakfast in that route? I've not been that way since 2013, infact the last time I went to the direction itself after 2013 was in Jan this year.

Kanakpura road is your best bet unless you plan a 5am start, in which case Mysore road is also good. Some option for breakfast:

I will be doing Vellore - Mysore on Saturday (21 December). Who h would be the best option for the Bangalore to Mysore trip. Use NICE road all along or exit early at Kanakapura or any other option. Id like to take into account road condition, traffic and time of travel - will cross Bangalore around 9 am.

At that time on a Saturday and with the year end holiday season round the corner, you'd be better off taking the Kanakapura route (it has some diversions due to widening work, but worth it compared to the pain of weekend traffic on Mysore road). Take NICE road from Hosur road and exit at Kanakapura road and proceed to Mysore via Kanakapura-Malavalli-Bannur and you merge onto Mysore ring road.

Thanks for the suggestions. I drive a TN registered car. Will recent events possibly cause any undue delays to annoyances on the route when I enter Bangalore to reach Mysore?

How is the situation in Mysore. I plan to start for a trip from Chennai to Kabini on Monday morning, with a halt at Mysore for the night. Before I start want to assess the situation keeping in mind the current political happenings.

Any leads are appreciated. I believe the 144 is imposed until Sunday.

Diwakar - life is BaU. All companies are working. Government offices are working. There are no more 'Planned' protests that is there. The jams continue. The rants in traffic continues and the average Bangalorean still is figuring out ways to ride outside of the dedicated bus lane on ORR.

When I say all this , what I mean is that it's quite normal. You should be fine for the Monday morning drive, unless something really drastic happens over the weekend , and that's quite unlikely.

*From what I know, the protests yesterday were in city centres in Bangalore and Mysore, haven't heard of any blockages on highways around these cities.

Anything we say in response to your question about delays/annoyances will be highly speculative. On the ground, reality will be a lot different compared to what is reported in the media, so take those reports with bucket loads of salt. Also, your car having TN registration should have no bearing.

I just came back from a round trip to Channapatna. The highway full of cars as always. The Thatte Idly shops at Bidadi were brimming with crowds and cars. All good today.
