Which route to Kollur via Dharmasthala from B,lore

Hi, we are planning a small trip to Kollur via Dharmasthala from B,lore coming week , how are the roads because I may travel in an i10.

I can't comment on the route from Bangalore to Dharmasthala. It keeps varying every day.
Dharmasthala to Kollur, if you want good roads, try this.
Dharmasthala - Bajagoli - Karkala - Udupi - Kundapura - Byndoor - Kollur.
Dharmasthala to Udupi should be reasonable. Udupi to Kundapura once again can't predict the condition, but traffic is very heavy - Rest should be reasonable.
i10 should be good.

There's no need to go to either Udupi or Kundapura. Byndoor is roundabout. From Dharmasthala, take the following route

Dharmasthala-Karkala-Hebri-Haladi-Shankarnarayana-Vandse-Kollur

This road runs parallel to the NH 17 along the base of the ghats. The road condition was good (before the monsoon) and you do not have to reach the NH17.

For Bangalore-Dharmastala

Blr-Magadi-Kunigal-Hassan-Sakleshpur-Gundya-Shiradi-Dharmasthala
OR
Blr-Magadi-Kunigal-Hassan-Belur-Mudigere-Kottigehara-Charmadi-Ujire-Dharmasthala

Dharmasthala - Ujire 11 km - Guruvayankere 8 - Bajagoli 32 - Karkala 8 - someshwara via hebri 39 - haladi 26 - Kollur via jadkal 36. Been on this route in May - single lane, sparse to light traffic, good roads throughout. It seems too early for the rains to have caused any damage to the roads.

For Bangalore to Dharmasthala, it is safe to try Shiradi ghats rather than narrow charmadi ghats.

Shiradi is going back to what it was so am not sure if you would want to take this road, but till sakleshpura the road is still in decent shape.

Monsoon is pretty active so prepare the car accordingly...

Thanks for the replies, I may try the Shriradi Ghat route to Dharmasthala and Udupi- Karkala route from there.
