Once you enter TN border after crossing Anekal, there is road expansion works going on in Thaly road. Except that all fine. From Mathigiri to Rayakottai you have two roads - one via Rayakottai road and another via Kelamangalam. Both roads have their fair stretch of village roads and some potholes. Just need to drive a bit carefully.

So that risk is always there. Also the Malur-Berigai-Shoolagiri is a single lane road and good for day time travel. Also these days we seem to see lot of trucks using the Baglur route.
Thanks a lot. Took the Shoolagiri-Malur route and it was a smooth one. Without your warning on the single lane, I might have thought I was on the wrong road and might have turned back. But it was surprisingly easy with only one incoming bus from other side throughout.
I might take the STRR on my return.

Drove Anekal - Thalli - Denkanikotai - Panchapalli dam - Marandahalli and it was a breeze since it was a Monday morning drive.
Returned via 844 yesterday afternoon and encountered quiet a bit of traffic at Rayakottai and Haleseebam. Thankfully the construction at hosur was not backed up and I managed to do decent time on the way back home from Hosur.

844 will be a good alternative for folks coming from Dharmapuri side, once all the town bypasses are open.

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

Last weekend traveled from Mysore to Hyderabad. Took the route via Naga Mangala Belur cross - Solur - Kambal - Dobbaspet- Devanahalli to bypass Bangalore.
Solur to Dobbaspet is 2 lane and road conditions are good from Dobbaspet took the STR to Devanahalli. The down ramp at Devenahalli was open this time I traveled

Re: On Bypassing Bangalore

New STRR update of the Hoskote-Bagalur Section. (Video is in Tamil.)

Quick summary - Most of the road sections are complete but the flyover over the Bengaluru - Jolarpettai - Chennai section railway tracks has barely started. See around 8:00 in the video. This section is at least a year away .
