Previously we just wanted to enjoy the trip peacefully without any hassles so we decided to go by train. Now that you mentioned it in your previous post, we are considering the option of going via our own vehicle. It could be more fun. And yes, we'll be there in Amritsar 25th onwards, so hope to see u there too @varun!!!

P.S.-- So many amazing things to eat @Amritsar, guess ill have to start exercising right away to make sure i am able to digest all the delicious foods and liquids there!!!

So it's been finally decided, we'll be going in our car instead of train, well the ticket was in the waitlist anyways. I am hoping it'll be a lot more fun. We'll be leaving early morning tomorrow at around 4 to 5 AM as the journey to jammu/katra will itself take about 14-15 hours, and we're planning to start our ascend in the night.

Another question guys, on our way to Jammu, which are the best places where we can have a delicious breakfast and lunch full punjabi style?

Breakfast - Murthal / Karnal
Lunch - Lucky just before Jalandhar (though you might have to take a small detour). It is next to Haveli. Do not miss the tea at Lucky.
Dinner - Just before entering the JK border, there is a place called Madhopur. There are a few dhabas by the canal. Very good food. Do not go to the JK tourism restaurant next to the fuel station just near the border. Horrid food.

At Katra - Have food at Manoranjan restaurant at the main market, near Katra bus stand. They have very fast service and very, very good food. Just remember that you will not get onions in any restaurant in Katra.
