Can someone tell me the nearest beach from Bangalore? Is there any on the east coast (AP), that can be reached before Chennai?
I'm looking for those non-crowded ones.
Please help.
closest would be chennai,pondicherry or mangalore side
Apart from Pondychery, if you can extend a bit, GOA is the place you need to go for the best beaches!
Mangalore - Bangalore - Chennai. They are pretty much in a straight line. Both of them are almost equidistant from Bangalore. Nothing else is closer.

If you are looking for serene beaches then 380KM from Bangalore there is a beach in Nellore district of Andhrapradesh called Mypadu beach.
How come no one mentioned Gokarna beach??. it's like Bangalore - GoKarna - Goa

yup, considering that roads are better going east, I'd say its faster to get to Chennai.

On the other if you want beautiful and serene beaches, you don't have to get out of state.

Having traveled to all these places , Puducherry beach is the closest to Bangalore. Its about 320kms and AFAIK , I don't think any beach is closer than this.
Will try to be somewhere there in the east coast. I have a feeling that there would be many small, beutiful beaches - or approaches to sea.

Yes. This kind of places are the ones that I am interested. Please give more details on the directions, time, places to stay etc.

Apart from Pondi and Chennai, any one has experience in venturing out on the east coast beaches? There is a very long coastline for AP - So, there must be some good openings to sea...

Yes Pondicherry is the closest at about 320KM. You need to go upto Krishnagiri, take left on towards Chennai and after about 1-1.5 kms, there is a SH going on the right to Pondicherry.
Mangalore is about 400kms from Bangalore and Goa is about 500+.
