About 3 Km after the Krishnagiri toll or 1 Km after the Chennai road junction (you can see the road below the flyover you will be driving on) you can see Sree Saravana Bhavan on the left. It has become a pretty popular place these days and you will see lots of cars there. On the right hand side is a lake with boating, etc. This is called the Kaveripattinam bypass.
*(Sree Saravana Bhavan is not owned by the Hotel Saravana Bhavan or HSB group but is nevertheless very good)

After this, your options are:
-Hotel Annapoorna (newish one between Krishnagiri and Dharmapuri) on left side
-Sai Sangeet (inside Indian Oil bunk campus, also has a CCD) and A2B (inside Bharat Petroleum campus) both on right side before the Thoppur toll and will need U-turns
-Sharvesh Inn at Thoppur town just after the toll on left side

I've tried the Sree Saravana Bhavan which is very good. Also tried Sai Sangeet which is awesome. A2B is not great, used to be the only option there till Sharvesh and Sai Sangeet came up.

At Munnar, inside the town
-Silver Spoon is good
-Saravana Bhavan (veggies place and is not owned by the Hotel Saravana Bhavan or HSB group)

Re: Munnar : Recommendations for Hotel/Resorts/Homestay

Is 'The Tall Trees Resort' still among the best at Munnar?

I had been there some 7 years back and was so impressed than the others. I wanted to book for a honeymoon couple a few days.

Re: Munnar : Recommendations for Hotel/Resorts/Homestay

Need some pointers for booking room at Munnar for a couple in August. I am proposing four day stay at Munnar, one day for Thekkady/Alleppy as per their convenience. Is it good enough to have four days at Munnar. Instead of covering the usual tourist spots, they are more interested in exploring the places at their own pace and want to avoid the usual crowd.

Will it be a good time to visit Munnar in Monsoons? Anything special that the travel gurus recommend to keep in mind travelling here during August season. I am also need recommendations for good hotel/homestay for their booking. Preference is clean rooms with good views.

It's going to be Monsoon season in August, expect heavy rainfall, usually people avoid during monsoons,if still planning, the best days to be in Munnar are always Mon - Thu, avoid holidays, weekends as the place gets very crowded and expect lot of traffic jam and crowd in all the must see places.

we went there in October, we stayed in The Siena Village, Chinnakanal, it's a huge property with very good views of the hills in the backdrop, hope this helps.

Re: Munnar : Recommendations for Hotel/Resorts/Homestay

Folks,

Request suggestions for good service apmts, home stays etc. in Munnar. Planning a drive in April and primary need is of a self kitchen, for my toddler son and in-laws. I am not too keen on exploring, mostly would stay in hotel, relax and soak in the views.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Munnar : Recommendations for Hotel/Resorts/Homestay

Those planning Munnar trip in next couple of months, do note that Neelakurinji blooming season starts from end of this month. There will be considered tourist presence due to this.

Incase you are not interested to see the flowers, it's best to delay your trip to avoid crowd.

For those who are interested to visit blooming, you can book your tickets through this link.

For more information about Neelakurinji season, you can refer this link.

Re: Munnar : Recommendations for Hotel/Resorts/Homestay

Stayed in Misty Mountain Resort in Munnar when I was in Munnar around 1st week of October'23.

Quite a decent place. The breakfast buffet, which is part of the package, is quite good. The room, though small, is decent. The parking will be a bit tight but it's manageable.

Time Period : 1st week of October'23
