re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I am planning to spend a weekend with my family just relaxing and doing nothing (no touristy stuff, no activities). My requirements -- a resort/hotel with good service, a good swimming pool, peace and some greenery around.

Is Lalitha Mahal Palace, Mysore a good option? They've quoted 7k + taxes for a heritage classic room. I zeroed in on it because it looks different from other places and could be a nice change.

Any other suggestions for places around Bangalore within a range of 200kms?

Do you want to stretch beyond Mysore ? Because there are amazing places in Ooty/Coorg for example, where you can just laze around. Since you specifically mentioned, Mysore, I wanted to check that aspect.

I can stretch a little beyond Mysore but I've ruled out Ooty/Coorg for now. My 5-month son will not sit quiet on a 5 hour road trip. I am looking something like 2-3 hours max from Bangalore. I've got strict instructions not to cross this time limit

Thanks for this. The rates look good (comes to about 4k per person for the whole weekend) and the place also looks nice! And I've been to a Clarks before (Not this one). But you see, it doesn't feel like I am going out of the city I'll keep this as the final 'resort' . Any other suggestions?

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Friends,

Can someone suggest a decent accommodation for 2 adults near to any metro station in Delhi. Budget would be 1.5K and no need for any breakfast/lunch or dinner.

Also is the airport line functioning now?

Thanks in advance,

Rajesh

Hi Rajesh.
In the month of march I stayed at hotel Today, Desh Bandhu Gupta road,Paharganj,N.Delhi. Split AC, large room, decent bathroom with a fan, white bedsheet ,white towel etc. Rs 1300 all inclusive.
It was about 5 minutes walk from N.Delhi railway station so would be around 7/8 minutes from the metro. In case you have luggage you could come out of the station and catch a cycle rickshaw. Would be rs 20 or less.
Staff is good and the name of the receptionist is Prakash.
Hope this helps.
Regards

The metro line is pretty vast and spread out throughout Delhi/NCR. What areas are you looking at?
Yes the Airport Metro is functional as of now although the speed has been compromised.

The purple leaf hotel is a good lace to stay away from the chaos yet 10mins from Paradise which is the city centre.

Check www.thepurpleleafhotels.com

Other reccomended options in your budget range are
1.Courtyard Marriott
2.Vivanta Begumpet
3.Golconda Mehdipatnam
4.Bikanervala Boutique at Banjara Hills

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

We are planning a visit to Ooty or Coonoor later this week, with a 2 yr old child. Can someone suggest a good and affordable (say 2k per night) homestay that has a kitchen?

Also, being not very touristy, I would guess Coonoor would be better, right? How about good places to eat etc, there?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated...
