Looks like you are planning for grate road trip
Thanks for the tip Arin, right now I am just researching but god willing some of us from Hyderabad might hit the road to visit parts of the NE.

Planning is one thing, execution is another and being stranded on the road without accomodation for the night is not something I look forward to.

Cheers,

Hi guys,
Which are the reasonably good hotels to stay for a night in Hubli? I intend taking a break in Hubli for the night, on my way from Mumbai to Mangalore. Am looking at something around 800/- for a double bed. Also not too far from the highway.

Siliguri

There seems to be a nice hotel in Siliguri called Hotel Central Plaza. Their phone no. is 0353-2516119.

Deluxe DR is Rs. 800 and Royal DR is 950. Will post a review once I stay there in December.

Cheers,

Siuri (Suri), West Bengal

This town is an important junction on NH60 when going from NH2 towards Siliguri.

According to AK Roy the best place to stay is the Sharada Lodge. Telephone number: 03462-257111, for reservations please contact a delightful gentleman Mr. Prabir Chowdary on 09434375020.

Yes Vikram, you are spot on. For more details check the thread: AP to AP queries (Hyd-Vtz-Barddhaman-Siuri-Maldah-Siliguri-Tezpur-Tawang-Shillong).

If you plan to join in, please make your bookings fast as rooms on the way are getting filled fast and are almost impossible to get in Shillong.

Cheers,

Kolkata airport?

We request suggestions and recommendations for a decent, clean, safe hotel (preferably with parking) near the airport in Kolkata.

LOL, sounds funny to ask for hotels near the airport on a motoring forum but, we need to drop off two members at the airport the next morning before we hit the road again.

Cheers,

I had stayed in Hotel Naveen which is situated just next to Unkal Tank in Hubli when I was on my way to Goa but that was way back in 2006. Heard that it belongs to the RNS group. Check out their website - --------------------Naveen Group Of Hotels--------------------

There is this hotel called Revankar Comforts. Good place. Tariff was 1200 for a double room with AC. This was in July 2008, when I last went there. There is a Veg restaurant in the hotel as well.

It is located near the Court Circle, 2 min walk from the landmark Chennamma Circle on the Bangalore Pune road.

Am not sure if anybody will allow dogs though.

Nice comprehensive list s3va, thanks for sharing ! Have stayed at the Dune and would also recommend it although tariff is on the slightly higher side.
