re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

@midlifecrisis - check out Nivalink.com - LINK
And do negotiate, when I call any property, I ask for rate and then ask for their discount, usally they start with 10% and depending how got you get , 20% is also possible.

Also try airbnb.com

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Thanks Neofromcapone, ranjitp1.
@ranjit -Stayed at Pratham last week. Their rates for a double room inclusive of taxes is in the Rs.2500 range. They don't have non-AC rooms anymore.
I saw one place called Hotel Dhruv which had a three bed AC room at Rs.1000. But the toilets were really bad.
Anotherplace is Hotel Aishwarya. It cost Rs.1500, the toilets were clean. But the room wasn't very good. Just manageable.
Dhruv is okay if you're single and want to save a buck, but not with family.
Aishwarya was still okay, but the rooms were not worth Rs.1500

The fact is Solapur does not have a single good hotel and the ones that are there are pathetic in terms of hygiene. One can gauge the state of affairs when Bollywood stars stay at City Park and IMO City Park is sad Am just waiting for The Fern Crossroads to open on the bypass.Hopefully it opens soon.

Ranjit, the problem for me is not that the hotels are bad. They are not worth the cost for an overnight stay. Pratham for example meets my expectations in quality(chipped paint and all), but not at Rs.2500. Fern Crossroads looks promising, but might still be in the Tripurasundari price range.
mobike008 had stayed in a good cheap place a while ago. He said is was very decent for an overnight stay. Forgot the name but I think it was Ambassador.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

http://pyramidvalley.org

Pyramid Valley just 35KMs outside Bangalore on the kanakapura road is a very good option for someone wanting to stay just outside the Bangalore traffic. The charges are,

Standard Rooms - Rs.600
Deluxe Rooms - Rs.800
Deluxe Rooms with AC - Rs.1200.

They also have a Pagoda style stays which they charge Rs.2500 per night. It has a small kids swimming pool inside the room, which they charge Rs.1500 if need to fill in water

Overall, I stayed in this place this weekend and certainly recommend this place. Very clean and in the middle of green. They also have Annadaana (free food) for lunch and dinner every day.

No clue about Beed, though I just drove through the place, but Tuljapur looked like a very messy pilgrim town. If you don't get lucky there, I would highly recommend you stay at Solapur and do a day trip to Tuljapur and back (many people I hear tend to do this). In solapur, I suggest http://www.tripadvisor.in/Hotel_Revi...harashtra.html

Query - Budget Accommodation - Kolkata

Hi guys.

I am searching for a budget hotel in Kolkata for a duration or 4 nights for my parents.

They do not know anyone or anything over there.
They will be reaching Howrah Station, Kolkata on 31st evening.

Preferred location : Near Howrah Station (as they will be carrying some luggage with them)

Budget : 1.5k to 2k per night. (Max extendable to 2.5k)

Stay : 31st Dec to 4th Jan

Clean rooms preferred.

I tried searching on the internet, but that has confused me a lot.

Bhpians, a shout for help, please. Desperately need suggestion.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Guys need some help on accomodation in Srilanka

travellers - Family of 5- myself, wife, kid + 2 elders

1) Colombo - Budget - about 2-2.5K per night. centrally located and access to various tourist spots. close to restaurants. preference to Indian veg food.

2) Hikkaduwa - Budget - about 4-5k per night. I head Coral sands is pretty good and have written to them on availability. In case i dont get there, what are the other options ? Key priority is proximity to beach ( preferably on the beach ) and access to water sports. next priority is good food and option to stroll out and check other restaurant options

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Around 9 of us are planning a to visit the Mannarsala temple in Helipad,Kerala on 23/12/2012(Sunday) .We would like to know if there are any good beach resorts close by where we can be put up till Tuesday and visit the temple.
Any suggestions for beach destinations close by apart from the House boats in Alleppey are welcome as we have already experienced it.

Thanks
Sam
