Amit,

There is nothing in Mahanandi to stay. Nandyal is the base which is ten Kms from Mahanandi. Nandyal is a big town - educational hub - and has decent lodges. You can google for details.

I searched over net for APTDC Harita at Mahanandi but could not find a way for online booking so are there any other options ?

Regards
I have booked mahanandi aptdc online. The link is http://218.248.2.228/aptdc/login/OnlineLogin.jsp . The APTDC mahanandi is bang opposite to the temple and very good. Last time when i had stayed construction was happening. But rooms were very good.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi, I am planning the below trip with my wife, 18 month kid and MIL.

Aug 15 - Chennai to Madurai (halt)
Aug 16 to 18 - Munnar

Munnar - I am looking for a cottage style room where there is space since we are 3 adults, do not want to take option of an extra bad in the single room. Alternatively, am thinking of 2 rooms in a homestay. Do not want to cross 5000 per night (for cottage / 2 rooms homestay)

Madurai - Any budget hotels say 1.5K? The purpose will be only seeing the temple and leaving, no other plans in Madurai

Try this hotel, its near to the temple and should be Rs. 1250 nett for double occupancy. (I haven't stayed here)

Hotel Chentoor
106,West Perumal Maistry Street,
Madurai-625001.
Tamil Nadu South India.
Phone : (+91) 452 3077777
Mobile : (+91) 9790142222
Fax : (+91) 452 3012765
E-mail:info@hotelchentoor.in
chentoor01@yahoo.co.in
ganeshan01@yahoo.co.in

You may check with Madurai Residency (0452 4380000/98429 23433) or Star Residency(0452 4244524/9843674533), in case night stay required. Sufficient electricity backup is a problem with many budget hotels and a/c may not work during power cuts.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I am planning a self driven trip from Chennai to Goa with my family next month with a night halt at Davanagiri or Chitradurga so that next day I can start early and reach Goa by noon.

Is it a good option?

Any recommendations for hotel options pl?

New Tiruppur Lodge in Palani town - very good lodging facilities and they also have an excellent veg. restaurant. This is on the Adivaram road that leads up to the temple entrance ~0.5 Km before temple entrance.

You can easily do Chennai-Hubli on day 1.Chennai-Blr in 4-5hrs and BLR-Hubli in another 5-6hrs.Since its 4laned all the way till Hubli, you wouldnt face any fatigue factor.

Hubli has plenty of options to stay.Clarks Inn,Hotel Naveen,Hans are all good places to stay.

If its Chitradurga,Naveen Regency is the best out there (.::Naveen Regency::.)

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Stayed in Twin Tree, Kothagiri for past 2 nights. beautiful place, far from crowded Ooty. Right in the middle of Tea Estate (Ofcourse most of them, right?).

Take the Tea museum - doddabetta road, and take the right in the doddabetta junciton. The road goes all the way to Kothagiri. Fantstic roads, and nice curves!

Charges Rs.2500+tax per day. I did felt little expensive, but the room is worth it. Really clean rooms and toilet. I liked the toilet kit provided too. Good quality. That's says a lot about the resort. Food is ok-ok type.

Need some help for a friend who is visiting Alleppey alone (for 1 week). He is looking for accomodation in a decent home stay (preferred) or hotel that's not very expensive. Appreciate any valuable inputs/suggestions.
