I could find the link very easily in Google: Looks like it has good/decent reviews on Trip Advisor.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

On the NH-7, apart from the A2B at Chinar and the one after Krishnagiri, are there good hotels to have breakfast / lunch?

I know Salem has many good places, but I'm interested in something that's right on NH-7.

Aristo after Karur is not very good.

There is one after Kodai Road (near the tractor factory), but I don't remember the name....

Any suggestions?

GRT Grand is on NH7 in Salem, Hotel Fantasy near Kodai Road, Vadipatti BP Ghar (other side). After Madurai, there isn't a thing until capsi just 10km before Tirunelveli, which isn't worth as you are heading into Tirunelveli anyway.

Where exactly is this Vadipatti BP Ghar? I'd be interested to know.

I also remember a Arya Bhavan on the left, BEFORE Namakkal when we go down south.

Its on the northbound NH7 some 30 km south of Dindigul. I filled up there once, it took me about 20 min from Samayanallur bridge (where Madurai bypass starts).

Guys, can anyone please suggest a decent accommodation at Valparai for a family of six adults and three kids?

Also, is there any evening/night travel restrictions on Vazhachal-Valparai route?

Its exactly 25km from GRT Salem if you follow the bypass route. You find it on your left while
driving down towards Namakkal.

Valparai stay options are quite extensively covered in the Valparai General info thread -> here
There are hardly any hotels but lots of estate bungalows with the best being Sinnadorai but a tad expensive. Other good options would be the estate bungalows owned/managed by the Woodbriar, Waterfalls and Stanmore groups, NEPC can be avoided (my experience was not good, you can see my travelogue here).

Regarding the restrictions on Vazhachal-Valparai I think the forest check posts will not allow traffic beyond 6pm but maybe they will make an exception if you have a booking at one of the estate bungalows, you can check at the time of booking (also remember a recent post by member @airguitar where he mentioned driving late in the evening).

I think Arya Bhavan has closed its business, I have seen it closed during my last 3 trips. Aristos(Karur) is also not open any more.

Thanks, this info will help me plan. Aristos is not good - we had been there once.

Hotel Fantasy (after Kodai Road) is better - better parking space, better (though not the best) toilets and good service. I hope that's open.

You can also consider Hotel Arunachala in Karur, you have more information in the below posts. Here is the route map,

Here is a list of hotels and petrol bunks on the Bangalore-Madurai route that we saw during our trip late last year. Other than the A2B at Chinnar/Shoolagiri on Left side and the Thoppur one on the right side, I haven't tried any of the others in this list so I cannot give you any recommendations.
Looking at my list, I think the Vadipatti Ghar Dhaba in the BP petrol bunk campus is on the right side about 422Km from Bangalore.
here

Hope this helps.

Thanks Arun & NPV. In all these trips, the biggest problem I have is to find a decent place to eat and a great place for bio-break. Let me study these threads that you have referred to in detail.
