Nepal can be quite unpredictable thanks to the political situation that is ever changing there and changes by the minute. If you havent been to Manali then my vote goes for that.We did a similar trip. Here is a link to the travelogue: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...delhi-hyd.html

We did a arrive into Delhi a 7hr drive(with adequate breaks enroute) to Shimla,2nights in Shimla, then onto Manali(8hr drive with breaks),4nights in Manali, then onto Dharamshala(2nights at Palanpur),then down to the plains to the Wagah border near Amritsar, the Golden Temple at Amritsar and the Jallianwala Bagh.(1night at Amritsar).Back to Delhi. It was a relaxed drive. If you want to go only to Manali,I would suggest that you take a break in between either at Shimla or at Chandigarh else the drive to Delhi can get very long and tedious considering that a large majority of the drive would be via twisting ghat sections.Do pm in case you need help with hotels etc.

If you have a week to 10 days, as Ranjit said, I would suggest a combination of Manali, Dharamshal/McLeodganj and Dalhousie.
2-3 days at each of these places would be very good and worth it.

Check out Faujis travelouge on Valpara, there is a resort with pics he has mentioned. However the rate is around 8k for two. The one which 'Sajuanchorage' mentioned is cheaper though. http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...-valparai.html

- There are not many hotels in Valparai
- There are two estate bungalow chains. One is run by Waterfalll Estates and the other by Woodbriar Group

I saw that Kamat on JC Road also has decent accommodation. Never stayed, but I saw the board when I went there for lunch.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Planning to go here Ocean Spray - Home for my second wedding anniversary. Any bhp-ian been there? or heard about this place from someone?

Trip advisor has good things to say about the place. And the 'Heavens' room with jacuzzi really is tempting.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Manim
Hi
Last year in feb.stayed at hotel Canopy Classic, Gandhinagar approximately rs 700 for non ac.Everything nearby.
Neat clean with white bedsheet white towel, not a very large room but more than enough for one person.Mr.Sunil is the manager and he personally took care of the cleanliness.
I am surprised that Janardhan is rs 1500 for non ac.Please recheck because when I stayed there decades back it used to be very cheap.(Call them up)
T.A.P. recommended by coolcloud seems to be good.Their website says it is centrally airconditioned.
Regards

Travelled to tirupati, stayed overnight at hotel bliss. Decent hotel, rooms are just ok, not very clean but ignorable for one night sleep. Food was not very good and dining area unclean hence we had dinner and lunch at fortune kences.

If the stay is any longer than one day, my advise would be look elsewhere. Fortune kences looked cleaner and food was better.
