Re: A thread on Accomodation & Rates?

Hi,
I would be driving through Bijapur, Athani, Miraj, Kolhapur, Ganapathipule. I will hit Athini around evening 7pm and heard that the road from Miraj to Kolhapur is very crowded in the evenings. Is there any hotel between Athini and Kolhapur that I can stay overnight tomorrow and continue my journey early morning next day? I will be accompanied with my wife and 2 small kids.

thanks a lot for the help.

Can't recall the hotel names but there are many good hotels on miraj_sangli road.
With 1000-1500 range, you will get luxury hotel at sangli.

Thats it.

Thanks ranjit.

I stayed at that place last year, the hotel is good.
Kamat restaurant is right at the 1st floor of hotel maratha,
parking is at the frontage of the hotel along the road.

Almost every one/ website praises Hotel Malligi!

But when we went to Malligi during this Christmas for a Dinner, we (2 families) were utterly disgusted by their lack of professionalism, neatness, timeliness and quality of food!! Really don't find any reason- or did they come to know that we were not staying in their hotel?

I think that is only possible place available at that price point in Hospet
(Other than Royal Orchid). The only other option is Mayura at Hampi.

Not sure if there any other hotels around.

Ah, the restaurant isn't really a strong point for Malligi.

When we'd visited, the delay in someone tending to us, getting food was irritating. The first time it happened at breakfast, we were mighty pissed with the service and even complained. But on seeing the same staff at lunch and dinner on the same day, we just gave up. Most of the managers/waiters there work ~12 hours shifts so we really didn't feel like complaining anymore. The exhaustion on the manager's face was apparent. I'm not defending them; just presenting their working condition.

What makes the situation worse is that alcohol is served in the same area; hence, the crowd can get a little unpleasant.

Re: A thread on Accomodation & Rates?

Please suggest a nice comfy home-stay/resort in and around Chikmagalur. A cottage with 2 bedrooms would be awesome! And good food will be a blessing. Budget per person is 1500 and there are 4 of us (cheaper will be better).
