Accomadation in Ooty
Hotel Mayura Sudarshan
Karnataka TDC is running this hotel.
1000Rs/per night+10% tax for deluxe room. (Good for couple stay), wooden flooring
They also have cottage where 3 or 4 people can stay however it is having tiled floor

Also there is a cheaper option 750Rs which is little small and tiled floor.

Decent rooms, recently renovated and individual water heaters hence any time hot water facility.

Matheran :
Hotel Horseland , Matheran
Rate : Rs. 1800 including Lunch, dinner, breakfast
Good food , fantastic service , good location and nothing to complaint about this hotel. Swimming pool and garden is there . Can bargain on rates if you go directly as a walk-in customer

A cousin of mine stayed at Hotel Durvankur and they said it was ok. The biggest USP of MTDC is that it is bang on the beach. If you stay at any other place, you will have to walk a bit to hit the beach.

Edit: Did you check MTDC online and noticed that they are full? Pls note that they have a quota for folks who walk in, hence do check with them too when you are there as they might have some rooms too.

Suggested "Tropical FORest", Wayanad to couple of my friends over the last 15 days after reading reviews about it from the travelogue of @pramodpk.
Heard back my friends that it was wonderful staying over there. It is little outside the town and inside the plantation. Good food and accomodation. Moreover they were happy because of the personal attention from the caretakers of the resort.

  • Has anyone stayed at Hotel Priyadarshini recently? If so your feedback would be appreciated.
