Any feedback for the above? Do recommend any other stays in the 3-4K per night range. Given that its peak season, i would rather stay outside ooty than stay right in the middle of town.

Have stayed in Deccan Park in Ooty during summer 2013. It is little away from town and kind of resort type. The stay was good and rooms were large too.

Just came back from a trip to Ooty. Stayed at the Western Valley Resorts. Located at Nanjanad, some 13kms off Ooty. Extremely serene and scenic place to stay. Polite and very responsive staff. Food is good (not exceptional), the only negative point being wi-fi. Other activities include badminton, shooting and basketball.

Booked it through bookings.com. Costs starts from 3K upwards.

Thanks JayKis. Planning to book as its close to emerald lake & a little far from the maddening crowd. What room did you stay in? Not sure If need the premium family room as we are 3 adults + 5 year old.

It was the Studio. One room easily accomodates two. They also have a sofa cum bed which can easily accomodate another person. (but they will charge extra 800 for an adult). Check Bookings.com.

You can also try these:
1.Sherlock, Ooty town, nice place
2.Red Hills Resort, near Avalanchee/Emerald lake

or even CypressWood B&B

This other thread may help you find more options - here

Thanks NPV. Did check Red hills but it was out of budget & hence booked western valley on yatra at decent price. I did check Cypresswood B&B on airbnb but was not very keen on staying near the city centre as its peak season.

Stayed at Mount n Mist for a night in the first week of this month. Had booked a kings suit (3 bedrooms+living room+dining area) for 6 of us, 3 families. Location is awesome with wonderful view of the hills. Rooms are large with access to portico from every room. Service was also pretty good. Parking is also not an issue. I thought it was real VFM.
here is my review on tripadvisor. https://goo.gl/Fa1GAZ

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I will be driving down with family to Hosadurga to attend a function, on April 28th, and need 3 A/C double rooms for an overnight stay.

I could not find much details about the kind of accommodation available at Hosadurga - all the searches are pointing to hotels available at Chitradurga, but I am not very keen on staying at Chitradurga since it is about 60KM from Hosadurga.

Any pointers for a good, clean place to stay at Hosadurga will be much appreciated.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Has anyone made hotel bookings from the MP tourism website http://booking.mptourism.com/mphome/index.html ? I made 1 booking by providing details like name , e-mail id , etc, but then onwards it's asking me for a login/passwd and I don't know what that is.

Trying to reset the password doesn't work either.

There is a user registration option on the login link - towards the bottom left of the home page

I did book a hotel room and went through that page. Apparently I should get a username+passwd on my e-mail id that I haven't got yet. I've written to their support and waiting for their response.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Driving from Bangalore to Pench this weekend and looking for budget hotels for an overnight halt around Nagpur.

Any recommendations ? Would prefer something close to the highways.
