Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

+ 1 to what mallumowgli says.

Also, the Geetha Hall Cafe is several decades old and certainly worth a visit for some mouth watering lunch. I always try and grab something there. OT though ! but still worth a mention. If not their banana leaf spread lunch, their morning breakfasta and evening spreads are all super.

Thank you all for your guidance and help. I stayed at Hotel Raamus which is in the Geeta Hall Road. Was ok for the amount charged.

Also tried out the breakfast at Geetha's Cafe. Absolute value for money though the quality could be better. A plate of Pongal, 1 Vadai and 1 Dosai amounted to Rs. 98/-.

There are a few more options in that road. A few options below. Taxes Extra. Please note that Single rooms are exactly that with one single bed. Also they may not have the same quality standards as a Star hotel.

Hotel Raamus - Single Non A/c starting at Rs. 700/-
Single A/c starting at Rs. 900/-

New Vijaya Lodge - Single A/c starting at Rs. 900/-

Sree Subbu Hotel - Only Non A/c Rooms. Sister concern of Hotel Raamus.
Single Non A/c starting at Rs. 370/-

Hotel Jyothi Lodging - Single A/c starting at Rs. 900/-

Hotel AP - Single Non A/c starting at Rs. 750/-
Single A/c starting at Rs. 995/-

Hotel Vaiduriya - Includes Complimentary Breakfast
Single Non A/c starting at Rs. 1100/-
Single A/c starting at Rs. 1600/-

Hotel Vasantham - Single Non A/c starting at Rs. 800/-
Single A/c starting at Rs. 990/-

Apart from these there are also higher priced hotels. Hope this helps others who may be transiting.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Experts,

One query. For our office team building event we have zeroed in on Daman as the location. The total number would be around 40 persons. Any recommendations for the hotels in Daman on twin sharing basis? How are Hotel Deltin and Golden Beach/sand resorts? Tripadvisor reviews aren't always helpful, hence wanted to get the information from the forum.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any recommendations for a couple of nights stay at Kabini in early August? We will be staying 4-5 nights at Club Mahindra Madikeri & wanted something different for the end of the trip.

Options like River Lodge, Serai, Orange County & Red Earth will set us back >50K for 4 adults & 2 kids!

Have stayed at Deltin once for a similar offsite. It is quite a decent place. Typically, the place is mostly filled with corporate teams, so it's quite likely that you may run into other corporate groups if you are not taking up the entire place. This can get painful if you have to mix with other groups at meal times, as there are not many restaurants. I would suggest that , for each meal, you get a dedicated venue for your team that is separate from other corporate groups.

Rooms are nice and spacious, there is a reasonable swimming pool. There is no beach access near the resort, so there is nothing recreational to do other than indoor games (this will be the case till the casino is operational).

Haven't been to the other place.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Coimbatore - Accommodation Update:

Have so far tried out Hotel Raamu's, Hotel Vasantham and Hotel AP. Rates were similar. Found AP Hotel to be better than the others.

Am planning to shift there by end of August, initially without family. Could someone suggest a few service apartment or PG accommodation for executives. Thanks in advance.

I had stayed at Jains Cambrae, in Sep 2010. Was a good option as we were a family of 5 and needed 2 rooms atleast. With small kids, we needed a kitchen and so opted for an apartment. Was a good stay and am not sure if they are still operational. You could try their cell phones listed here
I had found them through google and not by reference.

Check out the TS Tourism Development Corporation hotel at Paryatak Bhavan in Begumpet. Should meet your requirement. Do negotiate (even though Govt. property).

Else Katriya Hotel & Towers on Raj Bhavan Road. Again, do negotiate.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Can someone suggest a good place to stay at Tiruvannamalai for 3-4 days.

Last time we stayed at Nalas Residency. The experience was very average.. So this time we prefer to stay in a good place for family stay.

Safe car parking is very important.
