Hi. I just heard from a hotel that some customers reported they being stopped at Mysore and asked for negative rtpcr test report. I am surprised why should that be for inter district travel. Did anyone encounter such stoppage?

Since Inter district movement is prohibited now, they could ask anything to stop your travel unless you are able to prove it is a critical travel. No hard and fast applies at the moment.

Is inter-district travel open now? I would like to travel to Coorg from Bangalore in the 1st-second week of july.

I didn't travel anywhere.

I did couple of circuits through coorg during my drive to Kerala and return 3 days back.

While going I touched Mysore Hunsur Virajpet route and while on return through Sullya Madikeri Kushal Nagar Hunsur Mysore and back to Bangalore.

There has not been any sorts of check, except some where near Madikeri, the police men manning a barricade looked up at the number plate. I guess I was spared any further questioning due to having KA registration.

Otherwise it was a smooth drive.

Coorg update : tourists are permitted from last weekend. I drove through Mysore - HD Kote (detour to Chikkadevamma temple) - Hunsur - night stay at JLR Kings Sanctuary resort. Next morning drove through Nagarhole forest - Kutta - Gonikoppa - Tithimathi - Hunsur - Mysore - Blr. Enjoyed driving through the winding empty roads flanked by coffee estates. No tourist vehicle there,yet. Only 1 checking, at the entry of Tithimati forest Hunsur side.

Planning to drive to Coorg on Wednesday from Bangalore, any recent feedback on the Mysore or the Hassan route?

I am especially concerned with the recent continuous rains over the last week.

Its a great day drive. One can actually make it from Kanakpura also along with the back waters of Kabini and add to it Gopalswamy Betta.

Is Coorg administration asking for RTPCR tests? even though we are traveling with in Karnataka? 2 doze vaccination certificate enough? (kids won't have the vaccine cert though).

We did not face any query. Unless you are going to the KL border, I don't think RTPCR or vaccination certificate is required.

Same, planning to drive down to Madikeri on Thursday. Please let me know how your drive goes and I will keep the group posted if I hear anything about the roads, routes and rain delays if any.

Did leisure day drive to BLR-Channapatna-HoleNarsipur-Arkalgud-Kushalnagar-Madikeri-Sullia-Subrahmanya-Bisle-Hethur-Hassan-BLR on 24thJuly, started @ 5am and was back by 10pm
Good roads throughput except couple of KMs on SH110s between Hethur and junction of NH-75.
It was raining quite heavily between Khushalnagar and Sullia, encountered thick fog @ Madikeri and very thick fog on Bisle ghat where visibility was down to few meters at some places.
Did close to 650kms and got average mileage of 16.5kmpl on my duster 110ps.

I came to Coorg yesterday through Kushalnagar entry point. A cop was standing next to a barricade and noticed him looking at my number plate. I wasn't stopped (may be since I am a local -KA12). Not sure if they were doing any checks on the others but as far as I am aware there is no additional requirement to enter Coorg.
Weather was great with light drizzle from Hunsur onwards. Local news reported some minor landslide incidents but otherwise it's relatively safe.
Just be mindful about not littering in our beautiful town please

Hi

Came back from Madikeri yesterday.

Route - Bellandur, Tumkur Road, Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Arakalagud, Ramanathpura, Kushalnagar, Madikeri (same as Google maps)

As per all the other members, this route is so much better than the Mysore road. Total travel time was approx 5 hours 30mins with sedate driving.

No traffic disruptions / diversions due to rain.

Weather was good and while it did rain it wasn't non stop rain. Temperature around 17-22 degrees. The whole region was lush green, all in all a very good trip.

P.S. covid compliance in Madikeri town was just okay. Most folks had masks but it was mostly used as a chin and neck warmer.
