I need help mapping a route from Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) to Kodaikanal. Route is for a friend, travelling with family.

Also any details of hotels or villa's in Kodai would be much appreciated. (Better than average ones preferred )

Now that Mr. Kumar has visited this thread already, I don't want to spoil it by giving more ideas.

The best route as adviced, is the one via Nagercoil, Tirunelveli, Madurai, Vatlagundu. But for a bit more adventure (and some bad roads), you can take Neyyattinkara, Tenmala, Aaryankaavu, Senkottai, Rajapalayam, Madurai, Vatlagundu. What you get in return is unlimited greenery, twists, curves, hills, waterfalls, dams, rivers and unadulterated fun! Highly recommended for adventure seekers and green lovers.

Speedzak, you made a typo. It is not Neyyatinkara, but Nedumangad which comes in Trivandrum-Tenmala route. Neyyatinkara is 20 kms from Trivandrum on the Trivandrum-Nagercoil Nh47.

Route details (on alternative route) are as follows:

Trivandrum-Nedumangad 15-Palode 18-Tenmala 42-Aryankavu 11-Schencottah 18-Tenkasi 5-Kadayanallur 18-Rajapalayam 56-Srivelliputtur 11-Tirumangalam 58-Madurai 20-Ammavanyakanur 40 (before Dindigul)-Vathalagundu 19-Kodaikanal 60, totalling 391 kms

In comparison, the route via Nagercoil and Tirunelveli (common road from Tirumangalam) is 419 kms

Oops! I was confused whether it's Neyyattinkara or something else. Btw, I didn't know much about the Nedumangad route.

Heard the Senkottai route is bad these days else nice twisty roads.

Thanks guys. I am not going on this route, so I think the requirement is for good roads
