Did Bangalore - Hyderabad and return couple of weeks back.

Overall, road conditions remain good apart from the ongoing road work near Kurnool town. However, the menance of unmarked speed humps continues in this section.

There was speed checking around here on the way back (we cross this around 11.00AM)

No other checks enroute during both onward and return trips.

Am planning a trip to Anantapur from Hyderabad this weekend. Read this morning that AP has a 12 pm to 6 am curfew...

1. Are there any checks on TS/AP border? Do they need any certificate?
2. How does the curfew impact highway travel?

Thanks friends for your inputs.

Ohh. Is this a recent development? I thought speed checking happens only near Bangalore

Been there since a while now. Few of us were taken by surprise when we were on a Team BHP meet drive the Kurnool and the pilot car alerted us all by calling each one of us. This was as early as 7:30am.

Coming to think of it, highway speed checks are now super normal even on Maharashtra highways but you don't get flagged and will get a text message with a challan in few minutes after crossing them.

First world practices when it comes to charging citizens, third world practices when it comes to serve.

There used to be / (still is?) checks near KIA factory. There been few posts in this thread itself of members who encountered it. I too wasn't aware of the checks happening at the location I mentioned .

I am sure one needs an e-pass for entering Telangana at Kurnool Checkpost. Make sure you get one from the TS police website

Entering AP , at least from Telangana , is without any fuss.

Is RTPCR report required?

What about return journey - when coming back to Bangalore? Is there any epass or RTPCR report required?

Read in the newspaper that random tests (not sure if RTPCR, maybe the rapid antigen) will be conducted on those entering Bangalore at Attibele (those taking the Hosur route towards Bangalore), didn't see anything for Hyderabad-Bangalore route.

This route has come up with too many speed traps on Telangana side. When I randomly checked Telangana police challan site, it showed four violations, with two of them on highway middle of no where with limit as 50 kmph and me driving at 95/100
There are a few speed traps like that in the middle of highway, be aware of them.

How does it work for out of state cars?

From my past experience, TS Police flags down out of state cars on the Hyderabad ORR once in while. If and when they do, they will search for your vehicle number on the TS Traffic website using their mobiles. If there are any pending challans, they ask you to pay on the spot. Payment has to be online and once you clear the challans, you are free to go. If no challans found, you are free to go as well.

I have been stopped 3 times over a 5 year period. And only once when there were pending challans against my car number.
